I like what you said about modern legos vs how they were back in the day. I’ve just recently been getting back into Lego again and the sets are so expensive I don’t know how anyone affords them. I remember back in the day I could save and progressively buy sets I wanted. Now it seems like only the adults can afford them.

Did you know that you could import your spreadsheet into Brickset to generate your full collection into their database? I originally felt the same way that doing it manually was a hassle since I have a lot of sets. But once you get the big list imported just adding new sets a few at a time is so much easier and then the fun begins. Loved the skit about the tipper truck when you first put it out. It was hilarious the first time I saw it and another good laugh in this video. You also have the monorail set which is a space train.

Lego does need better pricing all around. A building that's only 4 studs wide and can barely fit a minifig should not cost 150$ even the bigger modular buildings prices are way to high. I think in the long run its going to bring less kids and less nostalgic leading to less collectors. Lego really needs to re think this.
@ForBricksandGiggles

That’s very true! A lot of my love for LEGO comes from childhood nostalgia! If you miss a generation that will definitely hurt sales!

Interesting Q&A. I'd have to agree on the 'controversial' statement. LEGO should move back towards the basics making toys, not spamming out massive sets for adults every month. Also, I've had Ninjago City Gardens sitting boxed for well over 2 years for the same reason😂

100% agree with you on the change away from yellow minifigs. Minifigs were sooooo much better back then, they stared going downhill when they went to flesh minifigs in the licensed themes. Todays minifigs are way over-decorated, especially the hideous Collectible Minifigs.
@natbarmore
Ай бұрын
Tastes vary. I definitely prefer yellow to fleshies, so my fleshy heads and any torsos or legs with flesh-colored parts get sorted when I disassemble the set and then I almost never take them out again. The Pirates of the Caribbean minis are particularly disappointing in this way: some of the best pirate or age of sail minis ever, but I can’t use most of the torsos because they have flesh-color prints (mostly necks/chests) that look weird with a yellow head and hands. But I *_love_* the detailed minifigs in the CMF series and many sets, both the printing and the accessories. I would’ve just about killed for minifigs like that when I was a kid! So I’m gobbling them up, now.

@@MrViscom78 Well most LEGO faces look nothing like the real person. So I don’t think having the correct color improve anything.

I wish LEGO would start doing more of the cheaper sets, especially for the 18+ themes, but they're just following the money. As long as people keep clamoring for the big sets, LEGO has no reason to shift their strategy.

What are your thoughts on China blatently ripping off Lego products even going as far to use their box and item photos in their own advertising.. I think its insane.. why is there no lawsuits against them.. so dodgy

Lego often does do litigation, the problem is, they just close down the name, not factory, and then, rename the company, for a new law suit
