thanks for answering these Qs, I want to work as a research assistant after completing my Master's in immunology and I hope I get there someday, I just found your channel and it's very helpful and a source of encouragement to apply to the job like yours 💛

9:45 I highly agree with you! I believe that starting with the experience you’ve gained, you would eventually work in a bigger company 😊 (or successfully secure a phd program) Congrats on your new job!

I wonder if you could make a video about how you stay up-to-date with your field now that you're working; if you suscribe to any journals to keep up with papers, and generally how you find interesting research in your field :)

Finding your channel has been a blessing! I’m currently doing a MSc in Applied biotechnology at the university of Westminster and my end goal is to land a research assistant role at Cambridge University! Do you think I should start applying from now? Or wait until halfway through my research project so I can mention all the lab skills in my cv/cover letter ?

This is so sweet 🫶🏻 I definitely think you should give it a bit of time since RA positions are always being posted on a regular basis. Often times when you land a position, it’s more ideal if you can start sooner rather than later. So defo a good idea to build up on your experiences in the meantime

Hey, this might be too late for you to see. but I am having a lot of problems getting into a research assistant role as I don't have any "specialised" skills. like I have an MSc in forensic investigation and before that a BSc in Zoology, Botany & Chemistry. (I am an international student in the UK as well and for that reason, I cannot apply to any of the forensic-related roles.) So I was just wondering if you had any tips for me breaking into a biological research assistant or a research technician role.

I have a question! Can we apply for PhD directly after doing MSC Biomedical science or whether first we have to do Mphil? I'm international student to I'm bit confuse.

Hey I love your content and vlogs. I plan to work abroad as well in research in the biotech field. Do you know if there is a requirement to have a masters degree from a university in UK to get a RA position in academia/industry in UK? Do they sponsor visa for students who have their degrees from diff country like India?

Thank you! It’s not a requirement to have graduated from a UK university (even though it’s something the employer might be more familiar with if they worked in the UK for a long time). It’s just important to always explain the grading system in your country and explain where you rank to give the employer an idea of your academic ability! Research experience is pretty universal so as long as you have that and explain what you’re researching and its therapeutic/scientific impact, regardless from which country, it’s a plus.
