For carrying the passport as ID - I agree, I'd never take it out with me. It's probably the most important thing you have while travelling. So unless there's some reason I really need to take it, it remains locked away. However I found in New Zealand they didn't accept international driving licences as valid ID, you had to take your passport as your ID (a copy wasn't good enough either).

I understand not accepting a photocopy, as it could be tampered with quite easily, but I’m surprised they didn’t accept an international drivers license... that’s silly!

When you started out (before KZitem famous) what did you do for work to financially support your travel? How are you able to take time off to travel? How many trips/ time off did you did you take a year? How do you know how much to save for a trip?

2Cents worth. I lost my Passport in Belize. I always travel with copies of everything I could possibly use which was very helpful. The US Embassy was pretty far from where we were staying and thanks to good communication with them and having all the copies, I immediately was issued an Emergency Passport that was only valid for a bit after the length of the trip plus letters to explain why my Passport Numbers were different. It was not free, but also what I paid was taken off the cost of the permanent replacement I got as soon as I got home . It was a great passport because I had a killer tan in the picture ! I would love this to be a series for you guys ! Thanks

Wow, we’ve been hearing quite a few stories of people losing their passports during their travels. I guess it’s more common than we thought. I (Parker) have lost phones and wallets before, but never passport. Thanks for sharing the experience with us, when you explain it, it doesn’t sound so scary.
@belizeguy

@@sundayfundayz I have to say that I was very lucky . The Embassy was close enough. Those copies were invaluable. Even living here in Mexico now I never carry my Passport or Permanent Resident Card unless going to the Airport. Copies work fine for most things and if needed, you can go home and get the original if somebody really has to see it . Copies rule! BTW, do you guys carry decoy wallets ? A wallet with a little cash , business cards and maybe a fake or expired credit card in it that you could hand over if someone is robbing you. Several of my pals here have them and have used them . I have one, but thank goodness I've never needed to use it here .

The Great American Road Trip was a fave for some of us viewers as well! I sure wish I could re-watch some of the missing ones in the series... there was one early on where you guys stopped in Las Vegas, and there was an easter egg at the end of Ryker jamming out to a Pablo Cruise song that is playing in the casino

In reference to losing your passport abroad. I actually really badly damaged my passport (broken chip, laminate peeled from photo) last year on way to cairo. I spent 2 hours in an office being interrogated by Cairo dudes deciding if they could trust me to go on. They allowed me but said Id need to sort my passport as Id face same problems going back to UK. You need to go straight to your embassy to pay an emergency passport/emergency travel form. Either visit them in your chosen country, or phone them. It is pricey, like 3 digits off top of my head and cost depends on how quickly you need it. But fact being if you lose/damage it, you defo need to contact embassy and part with some decent money.

haha this video is amazing fun guys! Well done! Just a bit of input from me regarding drones in carry-on - right now I'm in Bali, traveled Sofia - Doha - Denpasar with Qatar airways, my DJI Mavic 2 Pro, GoPro and laptop in my carry-on without a problem. I even had 12kgs with 7kgs allowed, but they didn't make a comment about the weight. But always it comes down to the country and the airline.

@@sundayfundayzHey you guys thanks for replying. It is a long story i am from Macedonia, me and my dad went to Gibraltar by car on a business trip. Around 50 km out of Madrid we stopped at a gas station ( we think that there was the place that the theefs targeted us). After 15 km after the gas station a car roled up to us on the freeway and started honking and the two guys pointed at the rear of our car. So we stopped and they said that our car was on fire ( the exhaust) during me and my father were at the back one of the guys opened the dore and grabed the two bags from our car, got in there car and they took off. We couldnt catch up to them so we ended up calling the police ( witch werent helpful at all) went to our ambasy and called our mum to storne our credit cards. they stole oround 2000€ our cards and our passports with american visas. My mother sent us money by moneygram so we could finish the trip. In the ambasy they said that these things happen every day. And that there is a chance that someone will find our passports somewhere bu the streets throne away. Becouse thay are after the money. Keep up the great work you guys. I would love to meet you one day!!
