Thanks for providing such good knowledge in the field of CFD. Please provide some knowledge of the 3D column multiphase reactor. How to mark and patch the multi-fluid in the 3D multiphase reactor.

Hi, thanks for the amazing Tutorial. For the Eulerian-Lagrangian model, should we turn on Eulerian in multi-phase part and turn on DPM; besides, creating an injection or we should only turn on DPM and creating injection? to be clear, imagine we want to trace a particle, why and when we should turn on EUlerian?

I have designed a 2D bubble column, with water in the column up to a certain height and air bubbling in from orifices at the bottom. Using VOF as the multi-phase model and k-e as the turbulent model. Boundary conditions are: inlet as velocity-inlet, outlet as pressure-outlet and all else are walls. I am having trouble determining the gas hold-up in the liquid column. Using volume-avg fraction of air gives me a constant value of 0.46 throughout , no matter how long I run the simulation or at whatever velocity. All help will be appreciated.

Hi, I want to simulate a transient two-phase flow with VOF in porous media considering capillary action. The porous zone is initially filled with air. I want to model the displacement of air with liquid water due to capillary forces. My main interest is the degree of wetting and the spreading of the wetting front. How to model capillary effects in the porous zone?

Hello my friend, Can you do the work of spraying the n-heptane / air mixture from a hollow cone type injector? For the fragmentation of the fuel, it must be modeled with the KH-RT model. Can you post this kind of helpful video? Thank you from now

How to avoid Reversed flow on some faces of pressure outlet. I noticed from your simulation results, Can you comments on this.
@ansys_cfd
3 жыл бұрын
The reasons for the reverse flow are various. It may be due to the mesh, the timestep, insufficient control volume at the outlet, turbulence pattern. etc. However, it can be insignificant in many cases. The only way to validate any simulation is through an experiment, if the behavior and the parameters are similar between the simulations and the experimentation then we can avoid the reverse flow. Otherwise, it would be necessary to try reducing the size of the mesh elements and the passage of time. Regards

you had stopped the simulation ,at the middle and then changed the inlet conditions, do these are a good practice ? as per my knowledge it is a wrong approach ,as the inlet conditions are not same throughout the simulation how the result obtained can be used in any research work. please clarify my doubt ,thanks in advance.

Hi friend, thanks for your comment, In this tutorial I choose to stop the simulation at 3. 5s and change the inlet conditions to 0, that is right because in this case the simulation converge, however you can create a function and set the same conditions, P=400pa t=3.5s, that is right too. It is the same both are a good practice. Best regards
