A trip to Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands is as extraordinary a travel experience as one can have. This region-perhaps the wildest and most beautiful on Earth-features unsurpassed wildlife spectacles and spellbinding glacial and mountain scenery. Our cruises here regularly record seven species of penguins and a fantastic array of seabirds and marine mammals. Excursions on foot and by Zodiac bring close encounters with colonies of penguins and nesting albatrosses and beaches thronging with fur seals and elephant seals. At sea, we’re greeted by a dazzling assortment of petrels, storm-petrels, shearwaters, fulmars, skuas, and more, while some trips have excellent luck with whales of several species.
Every year for almost 40 years, VENT has offered cruises to the “White Continent” and the Southern Ocean outposts of South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. Our cruises are always special events, but our next departure, December 28, 2024-January 18, 2025, features the wonderful guiding team of VENT tour leaders Michael O’Brien, Louise Zemaitis, and Mark Garland. During this presentation, we showcase our next cruise to Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands. This production is an encore showing of a webinar that first aired in February 2021, narrated by VENT tour leader Andrew Whittaker. Our January 25 showing includes updated information about the ship and pricing and will feature a recorded message from Michael, Louise, and Mark. Barry Lyon and Victor Emanuel, both veterans of multiple Antarctica trips, will join the webinar in live time to answer questions and discuss the trip further.
