I have been to this canyon twice. It’s so beautiful and the people are very friendly that provide the tours.

Beautiful. How did you video there? I get that it was a photo tour, but (as I understand) video is not allowed.

Where was the rest of the people in your group? I can’t imagine you had the whole canyon to yourself as it seems in this video. We got to roam like you did as well but as a group. Like in some of my photos you can see other photographers in my group of 5 people at times.

They changed it from when you were there. They now make you leave your car at the checkin shack and then you take a shuttle van to the canyon. That walk up those many stairs leaving the canyon was no joke! I had to stop a few times along the way to take a break and catch my breath lol.

My family and I were there the second week of October this year. It’s definitely worth going to, and it appears just like this video shows. Although no light beings, we got to see some spectacular warmth and colors as the sun hit part of the walls and lit up the walls. It was amazing! We found it very interesting when we ask our tour guide about flash floods, and he pointed way higher and you could see the debris left by a flash flood of how high the water had been. He also told us how much work they have to do after a flash flood to clean out the canyon and put sand back in for the pathways. It was very interesting. Our Navajo guide was so informative and nice.

I wanted to shoot video when I went on the photography tour a few months ago but noticing the big no video recording signs at the entrance to the canyon put a damper on it for me but I left there with lots of amazing images!!!

I’m planning to go to Upper Antelope Canyon in November this year! How was the weather when you went and can you still see the light beam?
@JohnPhan1
Жыл бұрын
don't take my word for this but at that time of the year (November), the angle of the earth/sun does not make anywhere close to the ideal for the iconic light beam photograph, and if there is, you have a short short window to photograph, and not like the tour guides will give you much time either ... But the iconic light beam photograph is usually in the Lower Antelope Canyon (the canyon of Upper is more like an "A" shape and the Lower an "V" shape ... the V shape allows for a wider opening at the top for the sunlight to come through) that is why the Lower is the popular of the 3 ... I would do some more research and find out the best time of the day 11am-2pm to book your tour to get the best chance ... slight nip in the air if you do the early early morning tour then it warms up a little, but not hot ... Enjoy

I went on the 10 am tour of Antelope Canyon X back in late May and the light beam was visible something like between 1130am to around noon but it didn’t last long. It lasted long enough to get a few shots and the guides will tell you when that time will be to get that cool shot. I had an absolute blast.
