In this whole, wide world, there are few people who are genuinely irreplaceable. Anthony Bourdain was one of them. He was totally unique in the world of food. What a loss.

the meal kits are controversial because of how they under price produce and start to monocrop from the actual farmers they source from. it's like sweatshopping, how big brands go to countries and say, "how cheap can you give me a ton of kale for?"

As a “chef of the water & woods we waste nothing. Everything that we hunt, trap and fish for the table is used. Many people waste edible food, especially grocery stores. We don’t need another government agency or organization to address hunger and waste. Instead we need kitchens in every county on how to properly raise a vegetable garden, raise animals to eat, hunt, trap, fish and then teach them to cook what they have. As a hunter I will harvest a deer, use the hide for clothing, harvest the meat, use the bones in soups and what we cannot eat goes to our pets. We raise gardens on land that was cleared of rocks. People need to be taught to raise their own food in small places, neighborhood lots, roof of an apartment building. Form coops to buy lots, buy the seed, build greenhouses, tools etc. There is absolutely no reason for an abled body person not to raise their own food instead of being part of a government assistance group. I grew up in a family of 12,poor,mom stayed at home, dad worked,we helped put in gardens, learned to cook this food, canned vegetables for winter, hunted squirrels and rabbits for meat and never took any government handouts! Another thing it should be against the law in every state to throw away edible food from grocery stores. Instead it should have to be donated to food pantries.

I believe if people saw normal produce in the store, after an adjustment period, they would start buying it. I believe the super picky american shopper has been created by the grocery stores. Few people farm nowadays, and if you never see produce that is not sheer perfection, you don't know the imperfect exists.

Don’t you think it is *high time* to stop thinking about your own little world ? YOU are part of this whole mess too. And surely more than most of the humans living on this planet -because *most people struggle to do have a decent life; they do not plan their business “methodically”...* PS: Socialism is not an insult. Communism is, because their leaders do not respect their workers, their people, their land. Capitalism, Communism ? 2 brothers who hate each other, just in need for power and elitism. Then you have Socialism. The Third world child. The one who wants everyone to be respected. I am the third world child who hope you are still doing well, even if we disagree, because we ALL live on the same planet and we should find a solution -respecting everyone. Yes... I don't accept the claim that he killed himself, in France of all places. His expose on how wonderful the Iranian people are, how wonderful those living in the Gaza concentration camp are, how generous, how kind they are. Despite the fact that I'm anti-theist, I love and respect my Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Christian friends and I vehemently oppose the theft of their historic homes. But that makes me a radical anti-Semite, even though the Zionists are not Jewish by ancestry nor religion, who are just there for the free real estate. I think the Mossad suicided Anthony Bourdain.
