Струбцина явно под что-то конкретное. А не универсальная . От какого-то механизма. Например крышка котла.Поэтому длина винта такая. Если переделывать винт.Нужно и опорную площадку переделать.

Do you have any fear of the handle piece twisting out of the main shaft (particularly after a heavily clamped scenario)? I wonder how much clamping force could be applied before the locktight fails during the unscrew.

Every clamp I've got has a flat pad on either side. Why does this one have such a hook on the fixed jaw, and quite large serrated teeth on the moving jaw ? What use was it intended for originally ?

@cbauer72
2 жыл бұрын
If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say this was not a clamp to hold parts together but a mounting clamp to hold a piece of equipment to a work top. The deep hook would extend further onto the top of the bench and the tip of the hook would then fit into a mounting hole. The thickness of the equipment base and work surface would account for why there was such a gap when the original screw was fully inserted. You'd never use something like this to hold wooden pieces together. The clamping pressure would mar the surface both at the tip of the hook and at the screw pad.

This is awesome! I love that you laser cut a label! I want a laser cutter now. What made you choose where to place the label? I'm only asking because if you used the clamp regularly, the label might get compromised. I know you probably wouldn't use it now, but I overthink things. 😄 It looks great!

That must have been a special purpose clamp, and not a generic C-clamp such as woodworkers/toolworkers use. I say this considering the short length of the screw. as well as the "hook" on the anvil end of the clamp.
