Just discovered your channel and love the content! So very happy to find you. (Led to you by a comment on The Crazy Lamp Lady channel.) Your breadth of knowledge is refreshing. Even after 18 years as an antique dealer; brick & mortar mall, you gave me new information and a renewed appreciation for objects outside my interest. Thank you.

Oh thank you! I do this for a living but I do it because I love the old stuff and what it tells us about life past and present. If it’s all just about money, we could be selling a bottle of bleach, but that would be boring

The only way I can tell between an old vid. of George and new, is he is more comfortable in front of the camera and the length of his hair. Just darn good quality programming, from the first time until now. Congrats dear George and Xeno. Here's to many more years of "The Antique Nomad" From a Canadian watcher!

Poole Pottery was fabulous - sadly no longer producing- I remember seeing their pieces displayed in department stores and they really stood out from the crowd There was a lovely brass chandelier with tulip design near the beginning 3:58 which may well have gone home with me !

I love to visit Turkey and I think the tulip design appealed on that front. Did you know that in every traditionally produced Turkish carpet the maker always builds in a minor flaw as only God produces perfection and they do that so that God is not offended

Why are crocks so popular in Kentucky / Indiana ? Is it alcohol related ?!
@TheAntiqueNomad

That seems plausible, but I think it's mainly because a lot of firms there made it as utility ware back when people there didn't have a lot of resources so it's nostalgic to people there now

Maybe boys are harder on their bikes but a girl could use her bigger brothers bike once he had outgrown it but a boy couldn't ride a girls bike back in the day. But make sure they have a helmet because you can really hurt yourself 'just playing'
@TheAntiqueNomad

Funny you're right, a girl could ride a boy's bike but a boy would get teased if it was the other way around
