Out of the gated passenger elevators I found in Portland, this was one of my two favorites, this one being the most original out of them, as it appears to be running on the original controller (the buttons have to be held down for a second or two)! This elevator did receive a fire service retrofit (add-on panels on 1st floor and in car) to comply with state of Oregon codes, but is otherwise mostly original. I don't think any of the fixtures are original, but the car station is old. I have no idea if this elevator is traction or winding drum. This elevator is located in a unique building that seems to be a mix of office/industrial space and parking garage.
Fixtures: GAL Jet Plus RBW hall stations, unknown black button car station with wood cover
Year installed: Circa 1909
Date of recording: July 2024
