I only needed to make one copy of these 1918 Alan Herschell carousel horse stirrup leather holders, but I took the opportunity to use a couple of interesting techniques to make my own durable matchplate pattern. It makes casting more of these parts possible without having the originals to pull a mold from, and it also makes molding them much quicker and easier.
This video documents the project from start to finish, so it may seem a bit on the long side. I hope you will find it interesting.
