I'm afraid that he will become somebody like Tyler Myers at the NHL level. A big defenseman with inconsistent offense and defense reliant way too much on his long reach. However Silayev is a better skater and that can help him develop beyond #4/#5 defenseman, either way you'll get a useful NHL defenseman at minimum.

I think that's about right. There's potential but in the worst case he has his athleticism to fall back on and still be a very good NHLer

Stop, he is 18 and yes I am a lifer Devil's fan but lifer Russian fan whocwatches all 3 levels of Russian leagues more than NHL. He is 18 yrs old, played every game in the second best league I the world. We need him as a Shut down physical D man, we have enough back line offense. Especially so xe we made horrible horrible moves getting rid of Bahl, Nikita and Shakir..... BEYOND STUPID MOVES. Also he is playing on a large ice surface and getting the job done at 18. We need defensive D men ..if we only drafted Askarov....our worst fuck up since Colorado teared the 1 pick in 82...we could have had LaFontaine. Also, this guy giving the analysis is a clown.

Why not like chara? The kid just set the KHL record for most points by an under 18 player. Plus 98 hits. He’s clearly special

Not sure yet. I've been wanting to do it for a while. I have so many good clips and so much good stuff to say. But the strategy this year is to focus on the top names for the first 10 videos or so. Just trying to grow the channel a little using the bigger names so the "lesser" known name videos still get some traction when I make them. But, I can assure you I'll do it as soon as most of the top 10 is done and in the meantime, the biggest name in this draft is dropping tomorrow !

As a huge Russian hockey fan and I watch more VHL, MHL and KHL itger than my Devils and Comets (Red Deer Rebels) and Russian Nats team. Honestly... respectfully think you short changeed Anton in this analysis. He is 18, played every game in the second brst league in the world. One fur Devils needs we brechin to beca shutdown D man... especially after STUPID... HORRIBLE trades of Nikita Okhotyuk and Shakir MAHMADULLIN....for Timo... a horrible deal and now stupidity getting rid of Bahl for a solid goalie .. streaky at best. For my fellow Devils fans SAVE IT....SACE YOUR UNEDUCATED BS. If Markstrom was a grest goalie he never leaves the Canucks, they keep him at all costs (half our fabs probably have no clue he played in Vancouver. ).ALL OF THIS BECAUSE WE DID NIT DRAFT ASKAROV IN 2020 AT #10....WE TOOK A DIME DOZEN.... NOTHING SPECIAL SWEDISH WINGER (who spent both AHL playoffs being intimidated all ive the ice. Yes he improved last year and Ruff did him a disservice as well. Dude I will subscribe, but I think you are way off in Anton. Also look what the Devils needs are.....we have a desperate need for defensive D men (now and the future). Inam sure he us already working with power skating coaches and for Christ sake he is cosched by the greatest play majing center otger than Gretzky in Igor Larionov. Also love that he plays next 2 yrs on larger ice ..hr will be more than fine. Hell if David Clarkson can take to Olympic Power Skating coaches.... Anton will be fine. So I liked and sub'ed but again....think yiu short changerd Anton. BTW, I cannot stress enough hiw angry I still am trading Nikita and Shakir. Nikita now will okay for my beloved CSKA Red Army Moscow...I want to beat the shit out if Fitz. Our could D Corp could be so dynamic but he wabyed ti mortgage so much future on the NHL'S equal of the "Tin Man" Timo....who has less heart.... Timo or Tavares??? Be well

@@ms.felonystrutter2472 u we’re talking about getting rid of okhotiuk for timo like it was a grave mistake where okhotiuk couldn’t find a consistent spot on the worst roster in the league in San Jose and is now back in the khl where timo just scored shy of thirty goals with a torn oblique and a fucked up knee all szn

I'm honestly curious where he would be if he didnt have that early season success and started more like he is producing currently. I'm guessing the end of round 1 if not round 2. Really seems like people went nuts over that early production and hitched their ride to Silayev as a top 10 guy without really evaluating the player. Also, you said he's still getting power play time, which to me is a bit of a red flag since his production has totally stagnated.

I think he would still be top 15. There's too much to work with. And I think that with his play and his tools, he should be a lock in the top 15 even if he had like 3 points 😆 Another big Russian smooth skating defenseman went at #6 last draft and he had 10 points in the MHL....not even VHL or KHL. I was a big fan of simashev even if there was very little production so even though I'm less of a fan of Silayev he would still deserve a spot relatively high imo.

He’s a 6ft 7in D that some say has elite skating. He’s already broken one khl record for points at his age. Kids that young don’t score like that at all in the Khl because they aren’t trusted like that. Obviously there is something to him. He isn’t overrated
