No sé equivoca.
Mozart's enemy in real life wasn't Salieri. "Mozart's greatest and most bitter rival was the dashingly handsome Spanish composer, Vincente Martìn y Soler, who came to Vienna in 1785. It was Soler, who because he was angry that Mozart's new Italian comic opera, The Marriage of Figaro, was chosen over his piece, Una Cosa Rara, as the 1786 season opener, started an uprising against Mozart with certain members of the opera company and arranged most, if not all, of the cabals that occurred during Figaro's opening performance." Compared to him, Salieri was more like Mozart's ally. "when Salieri was appointed Kapellmeister in 1788, he revived Figaro instead of bringing out a new opera of his own, and when he went to the coronation festivities for Leopold II in 1790, Salieri had no fewer than three Mozart masses in his luggage. Salieri and Mozart even composed a cantata for voice and piano together, called Per la ricuperata salute di Ofelia, which celebrated the return to stage of the singer Nancy Storace. This work, although it had been printed by Artaria in 1785, was considered lost until the 10th of January 2016, when the Schwäbische Zeitung reported on the discovery, by musicologist and composer Timo Jouko Herrmann, of a copy of its text and music while doing research on Antonio Salieri in the collections of the Czech Museum of Music. Mozart's Davide penitente (1785), his Piano Concerto KV 482 (1785), the Clarinet Quintet (1789) and the 40th Symphony (1788) had been premiered on the suggestion of Salieri, who supposedly conducted a performance of it in 1791. In his last surviving letter from 14 October 1791, Mozart tells his wife that he collected Salieri and Caterina Cavalieri in his carriage and drove them both to the opera; about Salieri's attendance at his opera The Magic Flute, speaking enthusiastically: "He heard and saw with all his attention, and from the overture to the last choir there was not a piece that didn't elicit a 'Bravo!' or 'Bello!' out of him [...]." Salieri, along with Mozart's protégé J. N. Hummel, educated Mozart's younger son Franz Xaver Mozart, who was born in the year his father died.[45]"

I loved Amadeus, but I hated that Salieri was kinda a bad guy and a bitch. In real life, yes Salieri kinda envied Mozart, but not in the way the he hated. They were real close friends. Mozart wrote a letter saying that in the Magic Flute Opera, at every act, Salieri yelled "Bravo!" and admired Mozart for his talent. Only when he tried to commit suicide when he was older, people created theories that he killed Mozart. I hate when people say "I hate Salieri, he killed Mozart" People hate him and think he was not a good composer, but no. He was an AMAZING composer and he taught Liszt, Beethoven, Schubert, etc.

N'oublions pas qu'il fut le maître de plusieurs grands génies de la musique ; entre autres : Liszt , Brahms , Schubert Meyerbeer etc . I might be crapped on for this but I was moved to learn about the story of Mozart and Salieri in a game I play called Fate/Grand Order. They main point of the game is that historical figures, gods, characters from folklore, and etc. are summoned as servants to help fulfill the mission of their master, a mage who summoned them. Anyways, there was an update where Antonio Salieri was added to the game but was named Mozart Alter in the main story (due note that I haven't reached that part of the story yet). Alters are basically incarnation a different side of a character. That led me to search about the real life relationship between Salieri and Mozart and I was amazed. Their story was really something else. How Salieri was accused of killing Mozart, even though he had a really strong bond with him. This may or may not be concrete information (correct me if I'm wrong) but the part where Salieri began to think that he really killed Mozart. Even though he didn't do it, there was something in him that kept bugging him to think that what if it really was him. Maybe there was really part of him that wanted Mozart to die, due them being rivals. Anyways, it the little history lesson really moved me. It's at those random moments where you wouldn't expect to learn something.

This rumour has been attributed by some to a rivalry between the German and the Italian schools of music.[37] Carl Maria von Weber, a relative of Mozart by marriage[38] whom Wagner has characterized as the most German of German composers, is said to have refused to join Ludlams-Höhle, a social club of which Salieri was a member and avoided having anything to do with him.[39] These rumors then made their way into popular culture. Albert Lortzing's Singspiel Szenen aus Mozarts Leben LoWV28 (1832) uses the cliché of the jealous Salieri trying to hinder Mozart's career.

Salieri's music was actually more German than Italian. His teachers were Gluck and Gassman.

Mozart thought he might have been poisoned by his rivals at court, but he never accused Salieri. Salieri was also one of the last people to visit Mozart on his deathbed.

And make a kind old man, who allready suffered because he had lost his musical creativity in old age, grieve during his last years of life. But maybe he did meet his friend Wolfgang again after death; ''You actually allowed yourself to be touched by those shitmasters, dear Antonio? I would have told them they could kiss my ass. Sapperlote! Now let me introduce you to Bach.''

GERSHWINGAL7 Well, Salieri showed prodigious ability in all aspects of creating music. Nothing ordinary in this. It should also be noted, that Salieri was a pivotal figure in the development of late 18th-century opera.

People who only seen Amadeus. Shut up. You who have read the history books you may speak. And you who have read the german and italian history you may correct any errors. There is always a lot more behind the scenes then any history book can get down.

But he did confess that he killed Mozart when he was committed to an asylum, which was proven wrong. You could say that the movie is being told through the distorted point of view of events he believes happened.

Daaaamn stop that whole comparison thing. Just because of a (very entertaining) movie? Honestly: they both had a different style. How can you even try to compare them. If I am happy and want to keep my good mood I'd listen to Mozart but if I'm alone thinking or writing or whatever I'd prefer Selieri. I really don't know why you guys would call Salieris music medioce (except for the sake of comedy.) And I don't really get why you would hold Mozart so high. He was good very good in fact yes but flawless? Nah. Both have their strenghts and weaknesses. and I embrace them all. Because I know that I wouldn't be able to do something near that great.

+Hel LokisDaughter Mozart and Salieri had some rivalry for jobs. Salieri, for example, was chosen over Mozart as the piano teacher for Princess Elisabeth of Württemberg (because Salieri was also a famous singing teacher). Also when a poet was preparing to work with Mozart, he was ordered back to play a play of Salieri on a wedding, which Mozart wasnt happy about. Although its unlikely Mozart and Salieri had a bitter relation, Mozart was annoyed by Salieri a few times. So its funny that in that time Salieri was sometimes chosen over Mozart, while Mozart now is obviously much more known. I personally believe when you play on such a high level, it isn't really about who is ''better'' but more who you like better. It becomes very subjective. Sure some can say Mozart is better because of technical stuff, the child prodigy he was or whatever, but anyone can just simply say they like Salieri better because it appeals more to them.. and you cant really judge taste.

Jack Fletcher opera by some Russian guy? So funny. LOL.Alexander Pushkin was a famous Russian poet and author of world class pieces of romans, stories and poems. He was a cornerstone in changing the Russian and literature. He wasn’t a musician. And actually, he wasn’t even ethnically Russian, his ancestors were Arabic or black, I am not sure.
