I recently did a swap to noctua and couldn't hear the notuca fans which was really impressive, until I did a air flow comparision. The noctua's were not pushing anywhere near the same capacity. I ended up putting back the factory fans back in.

So far I had no problems but I print at slow speeds, so it might become important once I try to go faster. Thanks for the hint, I’ll keep an eye on that :)

This comparison is very bad, the air flow on the other side is limited, which is why they make so much noise. Noctua has a more productive fan model with a diameter of 40 mm. Noctua fans are very quiet and productive. Some people even install them on servers

That's a good point, thank you for the input. Next time I will let them run free :) But also with unlimited airflow the stock fan is really loud, thats why I want to change it. What is the more productive model that you mentioned?

Hello, could you tell me the name of a more productive Noctua 40mm?

@@no-expert Noctua has many fan models, they are efficient and quiet, but they are very expensive. You can find Noctua fans for every taste on the Internet :)

9000 RPM 30 mm WINSINN 3010 (a standard fan in many 3D printers) has 4.35 cfm of airflow. Noctua NF-A4x20 has 9.4 m3/h -> 5.53 cfm at 5000 RPM.

Shouldnt be using a axial fan for part cooling really
@Tome4kkkk

@@riotaken Yeah, with 40 mm it would have to run at some 6000 RPM. Not to mention axials are more prone to duct losses.
