Once Shaq left Kobe had ALOT to prove to not only be the best, but show that he wasn't just "hogging the ball all the time" Those years from 05-08 was tough to watch at 1st, BUT you loved not only Kobe, but his other teammates as well. Pau, Fish, Odom, Ariza, Sasha, Farmar, Brown, Artest, Walton, Mbenga, Bynum. & the fact that Kobe grew up a Lakers fan. . . I feel like, if we are talking about asterisks(all of that shoulda, coulda, woulda business), no one has a bigger asterisk on their career than Shaq. Shaq SHOULD be the best player ever to play, hands down. This is the interesting thing. It's all from Kobe's prospective. We dont know what Shaq was doing. We don't know what any of them was doing. If Shaq worked like Kobe his body would have failed him. Hey as speak on it ..just think if shaq would’ve got in that gym and got his mid range shot and free throw game just atleast to like 72% from free throw like and 40 from mid range..shaq could’ve been in the top 5 in scoring and really the most dominant player ever tbh

The fact that Shaq is arguably top 5-10 , and he will forever be the greatest NBA what if. If he made his free throws his scoring numbers would have been unreal, and if he stayed in shape?!?! He could have easily been the best player ever by a mile.

Kobe didn't tap into his full potential by not making the right play. Could've been more efficient and offensively impactful if he passed more and took less shots. Hard work is very very important, but to act as though decision making, shot selection, and court vision don't matter is not the answer.
