This episode refers to the agriculture- related festivals of Aos of Nagaland made by Moasunep Kichu. In Nagaland, around 85% of population is directly dependent on agriculture. The Aos practice Jhum or shifting cultivation and rice is their staple food. The Moatsu and Tsungrem Mong are the two important harvest festivals. After sowing the seeds in the new field, Moatsü festival is celebrated. Moatsü is the festival of seeking blessing and protection from pests throughout the seasons. Tsungrem mong festival too is about seeking blessing for a good harvest. It is the holiest festival. With the advent of Christianity celebrating the festivals like Moatsu and Tsungrem mong were restricted as they involved a number of ceremonial sacrifices and drinks. However, today, they are trying to bring back the past glory. Of course there is no ceremonial sacrifices involved anymore.
