good game. I threw so hard tbh, one mistake leaving falcs behind and it was over. Also for some reason brit never needed map so could never punish with map control

It was an exciting one for sure. I think I made a big mistake keeping my goons on the frontline in the first big fight, I was overconfident

As main brit who is training LB / goon comp this makes me happy :))

It's actually a really strong comp, sometimes difficult to get many goons out tho, especially with musket shipments and upgrade cards.

The 4 range for Longbows seems like it could be sent earlier compared to something like 10-15% H.P./Damage no? The vision and range would have killed 3 halbs & you wouldn't have lost any bows I think. - Once I found out that units don't attack-move properly without already having vision... the +2 E.U. civ church tech & any bonuses to vision (especially with range) from cards or techs I try to make use of as much as possible now. Glad it worked out for you there, I started France. Good to see a general British strategy's perspective!

I agree, I could have sent Yeoman earlier. Good point about church vision tech, however, with longbow you never want to attack move. When you do this, they restart their wind-up animation each time they move, which they automaticallydo after each shot when attack-moving. It is best to walk a little extra forward so they can shoot multiple times from the same wind-up (they have twice as fast rate of fire after winding their bow).

@SoldieRaoe Oh so is that why my Aenna do the same wind-up thing? Was not expecting that, thanks thanks. I thought it was when they switch targeting between each new unit (i.e. they micro fire on 1 or 2, they die - then they focus a new unit which requires an animation start). I always try to get them slightly closer when raiding villes in-particular & Lacrosse is just too expensive that early anyway!

@justincronkright5025 A great trick is to target a new unit while the arrows are in the air, if done right the longbow will target the new unit without aiming again. I believe this is still how they function, been a while since I checked.

Looks like an Age2 Strat: putting down house foundations in front of the enemy. I'm not sure it works in AOE3 as they go down in 1sec and you are out 120? wood.

With Brits it helps give line of sight of approaching enemies and their manors have more hp. It's also not a terrible thing if they destroy it because it allows you to build another and get a free vil out of it.

Should have shot his falc at the end with the lbow btw, given it left with like 2 hp XD

I didn't have much of a front line to protect vs cuirs so going cannons can be a bit risky, but I definitely thought about it.
