How to go to Aoshima, the cat island:
Aoshima Island is only reachable by boat from Nagahama harbor.
The boat has two departures every day, one at 8:00 and the second at 14:30.
The cost is 700¥ over 12 years old and half price for 6 to 12 years old.
It is advised to reach out to the boat around 20 minutes before departure. No reservation is possible.
The closest train station is Iyo-Nagahama. From Matsuyama JR Station, the only possible train will arrive at 7:14 and leave Matsuyama at 5:51.
Return from the island is also only possible twice a day, at 8:45 and 16:15.
Make sure to have some food and drinks with you if you are going to spend the day on the island.
