Nice, quick video! I bought this same bike 2 weeks ago and am quite happy with the purchase. This is my first ebike and prior to buying it I was considering 3 different Sondors models, all at $2,199. I paid $1,699, saved $500, and had a fully assembled bike that I could ride immediately. I'm 62, 5' 11" and 175lbs. Have had a few back surgeries so do appreciate the full suspension, although the rear shock is very stiff. I fixed that. The stock rear spring shock is 125mm/4.9" with a spring rated at 1,500lbs. For $40 I bought a 150mm spring shock from Amazon, a DNM Torch DV22. Being an inch longer it necessarily raised the stand-over height about 1" which is ok for me. The spring is rated at 750lbs and there is more travel. The ride is now smoother/cushier. I have not tried jumping off any curbs yet but I can hop up/down on the pedals with my full weight and not feel any bottoming. If I find that it does bottom I can easily tighten the spring and still have a softer ride than stock. There are fancier shocks with more adjustments, at reasonable prices, but most of those will be 165mm and longer. A person with welding talent, or has a friend, could easily fit a longer shock. I also replaced the bar stem with a 110mm 0-60 degree UNO for $20 from Amazon. Handling feels the same, but my hands, wrists and back feel much better with the bar higher and closer. The stock headlamp is weak, enough to get you home but you will strain to see any hazards. I removed the lamp and replaced it with a rechargeable bar-mounted NiteRider Lumina 750 off my other mountain bike, a fat tire Surly Ice Cream Truck. The NR light has more than enough brightness, and newer models are even brighter. The front fork is simple but allows at least 2.5" of travel for a softer ride. I have not yet determined if the adjustment knobs make any difference. Important note...the display is not accurate, I am actually riding faster/farther than it shows. I used an app on my phone as well as a GPS trip computer to compare. The app and computer agree with both speed and mileage. So far I have been up to 31mph while in PAS 5 on a slight downhill and at the same time the display showed 28.5mph. It's not obvious, but the display will also show you your maximum speed and average speed, separately, by pushing the UP/Mode buttons for about 2-3 seconds. They disappear after you shut the bike off. So far, I've determined that the actual mileage is 19% more than what the display shows, and yes, it is programmed for the 26" tires. So, if the display shows I rode 10 miles it is actually 11.9 miles. Another thing that I have not seen on any review of the S18, it does have a Walk mode in case you need to push the bike up a hill or in deep sand. Just push the Down button for about 3 seconds and the bike will take off at about 3mph for as long as you hold the button. As noted, the fenders are worthless so I removed them immediately. I did buy a seat-post mounted rear rack that has a built-in fender extension that is useful. The rack is rated for up to 20lbs of gear. I now have about 55 miles on the bike. After riding it about 10 miles....to see what it can do, I fully charged it for the first time. I'm happy to say, the 11.6 amp battery lasted more than 42 miles of 'normal' riding, which for me is pedaling all the time on PAS level 1 and 2. That also included one high speed run to 31mph. During the ride that went over 42 miles (actual/corrected) the display dropped from 2 bars to 1 bar a few times while pedaling uphill but then returned to 2 bars on level ground. When I returned home the display was still on 2 bars out of 5. I'm confident that I could ride at least another 5+ miles with no worries. With this being my first ebike I was surprised to see just how easy it is...the power available, on just PAS 1 and 2. On uphill grades I usually keep it on PAS 1 and pedal at a constant 11-12mph. If I bump it to PAS 2 it accelerates to about 15-16mph which requires an upshift in gears to maintain a proper cadence. After getting used to the bike I now feel like I'm riding a regular bike, but one that has reserve power when needed. Prior to buying it I imagined I'd be zooming around fast on throttle only, which can be fun, but I enjoy pedaling to get the level of exercise I want. You can make the ride as hard as you like, or as easy as you like. My legs were sore after the first few days because I had not ridden in awhile and purposely made them work. Also, the brakes do their job. While not hydraulic, grabbing both will slow you quickly from speed. At first, they squeaked a bit when riding or even just rolling the bike after a ride. I adjusted both brakes and no longer have squeaks. I could have spent $2,500-3,000 on another bike if I thought it was worthwhile, but I got what I needed for far less.

If you drop the seat to its lowest position, what is its height? I have read that you can cut off 2" off the bottom of the seat tube, to get it down a further couple of inches..? Thanks in advance for any answers.. KC

Sorry, the handlebars cannot be raised directly. If you want to improve, you can only add a few more head parts during production. But the difference won't be huge.

What is the weight of the bike whole? Are the wheels heavy or light compared to those on ADDMOTOR?
@electrifiedreviews
3 жыл бұрын
hey Megashovelman! weight is going to be around 65-70 pounds and the wheels will be about the same weight as other 4” fat tires. Some of the fat tire ebikes have punched out rims, which reduce the weight a tiny bit, but nothing really to write home about :)

bad idea of placing the battery so high , the lower , the better stability
@electrifiedreviews
3 жыл бұрын
heya Locodemar Seafool! excellent point and your exactly right: the lower the battery the lower the center of gravity. weight distribution felt pretty balanced here, and pretty similar to most other ebikes that have their batteries on the top of the down tube. i’ve seen a few ebikes with the battery on the bottom of the down tube as well though. even lower center of gravity, just like you pointed out, but the battery can be pretty close to the ground like that
