I'm a big multispecies guy. That first panfish was a bluegill/green sunfish hybrid. Super common along the Lower Salt system. They are some of my favorite panfish to catch because they get pretty large and they are really aggressive. Do you run into crappie out there?

Apache has some monster panfish. The sunfish are huge! In a few weeks you'll hardly be able to cast without a sunfish bite. I caught my first crappie there this past weekend. A really nice two-pounder. I scoped huge schools of something but I could only get them to chase, they wouldn't bite anything I had to offer.

@@flipflopfishingAZ I only recently added a scope to my pontoon. I'll be kicking around in it pretty soon hunting them. I've got a large ultralight arsenal to drop on them. They are going to be my focus this year.

Apache Lake always seems scary to me with almost no shoreline with everything straight up and down with cliffs right up to the water. Also it averages 240 ft in depth which is really scary!! Who knows what lurks that deep?

It's a beautiful place! I hope to catch whatever may be lurking below. =)
