Great that you are showing what those lower cost places cost. It is nice to see all areas of the pricing spectrum to give people a total view of the housing situation in and around AC...Thanks

There's standing water in those foam boxes on the roof. You have your own dengue mosquito farm. Better put in window screens and put weather strips under the doors if you stay there.

Yaaaaayyyyy! It's great to see something beyond Walking St. I'm torn between renting a scooter while I'm there (and Thailand) because I like the flexibility of having a scooter available, but I know I also don't have the skills you seem to have and because transportation seems pretty inexpensive, I'd rather leave the liability to the locals.

Yes this what you find for 4500 pesos, but you really need to understand it is very basic Philippines style living. And you cannot look at just the rent. No Parking, so you could not have a motorbike. Using public transportation would take a lot of time and be costly; if it is 200 pesos a day, that is another 6000 pesos a month, 300 pesos a day is 9000 a month. The unit itself is nice but basic, the CR is a bucket to wash with, the toilet is just a base, no running water to it. And a not hot water here. Kitchen is a sink, nothing else, just a shell of a unit. So now you need to buy a small refrigerator, (P6000) hotplate, or microwave (P3000), fan (P1500) AC (P12,000), Bed (P10,000), and on and on. In the end, you are still very far out in a security, questionable area for an expat. And don't forget you need internet, and maybe TV, and ..... Or you could rent a furnished Studio unit, within walking distance of SM Clark, Walking Street, paid 20,000 to 25,000 pesos, have a pool, fully furnished, with internet, water, included. Have a hot water shower, AC, working CR, entertainment and things around, your apartment, and closer to your friends. If you are looking for a cheaper, closer place, look in Mountain View, or Dau, both closer and a single Jeepney to many places. The unit Chubs reviewed over Biggies Pizza, would end up costing you less overall, than these 4500 pesos units (20,000 month) But complete and modern.

I understand that that unit is 4500 pesos a month for just basic Filipino living. I completely agree with you in regards to transportation costs. I would definitely be interested in something closer to the city. I will be contacting Todd within a month of my arrival to see what he has.

If you on limited budget, it's not that bad. A little work/cheap furniture. I think distance would be a issue? Transportation might coat more than rent 🤔 thanks, good stuff

Transportation costs would be a major issue. If you went out once a day to the areas expats go to, the monthly transportation costs would be much more than the rent.

@@irabankston3390 That is always a problem it seems when an Expat without a girlfriend moves into a Filipino area, go out and when you come home you are missing your property. Happens move with houses, this unit is gated, so a little less, but I believe still could be a problem.

Where the heck were you? Kind of looked like you were out by Magalang or Arayat. It's good to show what the extreme budget guys might be in for. That place would be doable if the location was better. Also have to guess the landlord isn't going to pay for any improvements the renter makes.
