@@o_oluwasanmi My God, I thought you were showing my old apartment. I forgot the number so I looked it up, not the same but very close. I moved to Dieppe to get closer to work but that is a great area, close to everything you need, even walking. I miss that. Funny story, I am by no means poor but people would throw out new things in the garbage shed. I got a computer (older), brand new pull carry on luggage, new deck chairs. When people would move and didn't want to take some things they would leave them there.
@jethro1963

@@o_oluwasanmi Even better, I just noticed there is laminate flooring, when I lived there they had carpet and linoleum. I had my computer in the same place as that person does. I live in a fairly nice apt but I miss the big bedroom and closet there which are bigger than I have now. Just to give people a gauge, that was a reasonably priced apartment, it's not low end, it's not high end, just about in the middle, and a very comfortable place to live. Also as a life long resident, just about everything I have heard from Olu in the videos I have seen so far, is right on point. I think she knows more than the locals do, which makes sense because she is a local now. :)

You won't find an apartment like that now for under 2000 in Moncton and your utilities bill will be at least 200 a month in the winter and around 80 to 100 in the summer. Also NB has the worst tenants' rights in the country so your rent can be increased as much as the market will bear. People here have seen their rents increased by 200 to 600 a month with 3 months notice. Plus landlords in NB don't have to give you a reason for not renewing your lease. I'm a landlord and I can tell you the things landlords get away with in NB, I could never get away with as a landlord in BC.

@@rps1689 Good to know, thank you for the information that’s very helpful
@rps1689
2 жыл бұрын
@@paulz6491 You have way more rights in BC in regards to being a renter and more options in the Lower Mainland for renting. The trick is not just to look at what is on the net, but to pound the pavement so to speak. Here in NB, an overwhelming amount of landlords only offer leases and no option to rent month -to-month after the lease is done, as if you don't give 3 months notice that you don't want to renew, you automatically go into/trapped into a new lease. It can be very stressful in NB being a renter, as there is no right to security to tenure and one can be much more easily evicted here than in BC. It's a slumlords dream here. Another thing to consider is the proportion of renter household income spent on rent and utilities is much higher here than some equivalent size places in BC and Ontario where there are better jobs with higher pay so you need a very good paying job if you want to be a renter here especially in a unit that is very decent.

The apartment is not furnished though. It was furnished by the occupant. But I can still consider it a good deal, considering how spacious it is
