The purple 15m version has the smallest diameter, but is also the widest of the series. That does make it easy to wind, but it's something to consider if your pockets are pretty tight. The green 30m version is the narrowest, with the same diameter as the blue 45m and the black 60m version. The blue and black spools are the exact same dimensions, but the blue only has 45m of line whereas the black has 60m. Finally the orange 30m Halo spool is the narrowest of them all, but has a huge diameter. That one is perfect for use with thick clunky gloves, or with numb fingers.

I had been thinking about buying the apeks 15m spool, when I saw that the new version had plastic around the edges I ran to the shop to buy the old version before it went out of stock. It is a totally backwards "upgrade", so much for environmentally friendly company bs...

@@jocamero yea I know, I think if you are OW diver you should have 30m spool, and if you are AOW diver you should have at least 45m spool, so you cover all depths. If you have trimix and you dive to 60m, I would buy reel (120m, I don't think they make smaller), who want to wind 60m of line by hand on spool
