There is also a shot of the insect-copters lining op, quite similar to Apocalypse Now. Truly a tribute.

In part 2, I strongly believe one of the ornithopter scenes is heavily inspired by the ride of the valkyries scene from apocalypse now, down to a tee. If you haven’t checked it out, I recommend you should!

Yo, it's so cool many picked up on that I too glad i wasn't the only one. The moment i saw Vladimir whipping the sweat of his head to then cut to the EXACT angle that was used in Walters' introduction scene. I had a feeling Denis used that shot as in inspiration for The Baron. I love it when directors look to greatest works of art that are not just the most inspiring. But from an artistic standpoint that would compliment the characters presence and visuals. Stellans' did a great job as Vladimir, while capturing the best parts of Marlons Walter Kirtz. For a long time, this easily one the finest films i've seen in years, to go to these measures of making sure your film not only entertains. But captivates your audiences and readers to making sure your about to embark on a grand adventure, outside of your own world.

You also see a lot of Apocalypse Now allusions in Blade Runner. It seems Villeneuve is a big fan of Coppola.

Dune is great (and will probably be viewed even more favorably by the time the series is complete), but Apocalypse Now is literally one of the greatest films of all time. Not really a fair comparison
