Thanks for the great video. No reviews I’ve seen mention scooter security. For instance, how to lockup a scooter if the destination doesn’t allow scooters, like a mall or a store. Also it would be nice if a scooter had a location on it to run a chain through for locking to a pole. Other than that the city pro is my best choice. Thanks again.

The scooter has no built-in security if that's what you're asking. But built-in security is never good enough in the first place. You're always going to need to resort to a U-lock or a chain. However with either of those options I dont see why you would need a specific location to run the chain through

I really like the Gotrax Gmax ultra. It has an integrated lock that won't stop a pro thief, but I could always get a heavy chain lock if an electric push scooter theft ring bounces into town. Scooter security. What is next, purse security? People regularly steal full sized motorcycles because they're desirable makes / models, even from underground parking garages and chained up etc. That is a 500lb machine. Does anyone take seriously the attempt to secure a 60lb scooter which is highly valuable and most desirable in its market?

‼️DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SCOOTER COMPANY!!!‼️This company is terrible, I would tell anyone thinkin about buying their new city pro 2022 model, to go with a different brand and company..not only did my scooter show up with a short, or and computer/app problem that won’t allow the throttle or motor to activate..the handle bars were manufactured wrong and not even straight. And worst of all is their costumer service…the don’t have any number you can call to actually talk to a human being whatsoever, only email, and live chat, in which they just run you around in circles getting nothing done, constantly passing the buck until like in my case they just hang up on you. All while you are out $1600 and with no mode of transportation and left in limbo tryin to get refunded..because as of now they still have gave me no info on a return or excepted any responsibility, let alone shown any empathy or mention a word to me about getting my money back. My guess is that they know this stuff happens with their products and just don’t want to have to deal with it at all, so that’s why they have no phone lines. Please, take my word for it, don’t chance it..dealing with this company has been a nightmare. Go with a better brand who is actually possible to get ahold of if something goes wrong.

Why would an escooter by any better than an ebike in the winter, on an ebike you can get studded tires, should be much safer in winter. The key is dressing in high quality layers in my opinion. I think it should be noted drum brakes are a terrible solution. They are in no way hassle free as you will know if you've ever had to service them , their performance is generally much lower than a basic disc brake, and having them fully shielded means very poor thermal dissipation. An entry level hydraulic mountain bike disc brake would be much appreciated on what is otherwise a cutting edge product package besides the decision to use 1980s brake technology. Otherwise very cool product overall

How do drum brakes make sense to any of you? You already have an air cooles BLDC hub motor and you'd prefer to have a hub drum brake along with it inside that tiny diameter. It makes less sense than having mountain biking hydraulic disc brakeset which are highly refined technology and superior across several fronts. The only way this decision makes sense is if Apollo sources their hub motors from a 3rd party and said 3rd party offers a platform design / off the shelf design that has an integrated drum. For a high performance machine I wouldn't risk having the permanent magnets demagnetized due to massive thermal load, and I'm curious if there are any cases of this shown thru testing or warranty failures. I will go ahead and assume the hub bldc here also have a remote ECU i.e. in the chassis of the scooter and not integrated into the drum. Otherwise that is additional thermal load and from the FETs/inductors/micro, which themselves can fail due to overtemp. I'd like to understand what makes any of you generically state you'd prefer drums.
@WillyBaldy

@@joevd8718 From what I could read, they're using drum brakes that have a surface bigger than normal, and also braking will mainly be done with the electrical one. It remains to be seen how efficient or robust it will be, but the maintenance free part is a huge selling point for me. It might not be for some, but maintenance free on brakes and tires is very appealing, on top of good water resistance. Can't wait to find out if real life testing will confirm the hype.

As an owner of the original Apollo City, I just do not understand this new model. Who are they appealing this to? It seems all the benefits and points of having a "city" model are destroyed with the new model. Old City Weight = 39 pounds. Rider max weight = 265 pounds New city = 57 pounds. Rider max weight = 220 pounds Pro City = 65 pounds= Rider max weight = 265 pounds And range is only doubled to about 30 miles on new model, only like at most double than old city that can realistically do. It's not enough range to justify a large weight increase and also to take away stem increase adjustment and smaller size collapsed that you need for a CITY. I just do not see the appeal to upgrade. It seems like a step backwards to me. And compare to Emove Cruiser with 50+ miles of range and weight of 52 pounds, I just cannot find anyway to justify the new City being any better. No... sorry Apollo, you screwed up here. I'll stick with the old one, that is useful in the the city, this new model is not.
