Hey, this comment isn’t specifically abt them drama but i just wanted to say since you mentioned it- it’s okay to be confused about your sexuality, and its okay to need time to figure it out- now, this may not be the case for you, but what you described in the video about how you feel might make you Biromantic/Panromantic/or some other multi-gender romantic attraction, but still heterosexual. Loving someone romantically is an entirely separate experience than sexual attraction, someone could be biromantic but homosexual (meaning they’d date both genders because they feel a romantic connection with either, but would only feel any sexual attraction towards their own gender) I hope this helps in your self discovery in anyway- also, this apology video was really well done, probably the best I’ve ever seen. The fact that people accused Synni of allowing/enabling BIRDIES bad decisions and inappropriate behavior was frankly disgusting to me. It's so unfair to assume a person is letting something their *friend* did slide just because they didn't make a paragraph long Twitter post denouncing it. You never know the situation that person is in. Edit: I changed the word blamed to accused so no one else gets the idea that I'm claiming Synni DID enable Birdie. She did NOT do that at all. Birdie is responsible for his own actions and should be treated as such. Edit 3-22-22: I have been informed that Birdie was forced to go by she / her by their family and will be changing the pronouns post haste! Sorry for the accidental misgendering.

Honestly, the people who are trying to bring down Synni or “cancel” Synni need to stop. Synni is not a terrible person, and anything she has done wrong she either didn’t know better or has apologized. Now I’m not excusing what Synni has done, but she obviously has changed. And if Synni chooses to be friends with Birdie, we should respect her decisions. Now again, I’m not gonna excuse anything Synni has said/done, but she truly is trying to do better, and we should try and respect that change and move on. Synni being friends with Birdie is NOT a huge deal, just let Synni be friends with Birdie. Although I do admit Birdie has done some terrible things, Synni should be able to be friends with anyone and we should not be able to change that. I'm not forgiving or excusing Birdie at all, but I know what it feels like to be friends with a supposedly mean person when all they've ever done is be nice to you (this is not a statement of empathy, more of explaining this behavior using sharing of experience. I personally don't condone this anymore). However, we don't truly know their relationship, so let's just take Synni's word for this and hope that their relationship is ok enough that she isn't obligated to leave them. Let's also remind ourselves that Synni will and has tried her best not to be influenced by them. All these actions mentioned here all solely her fault, which in retrospect is good because at least it's not influenced by Birdie. She especially did not learn to deny accusations and excuse her behavior, which is also good. She's doing good and that's great. I'm saying this more in concern of Synni, that is all.

i do think this a good apology. you take accountability for your actions and show that you genuinely care about these concerns and wanting to be better, but my problem with this is how you think that your relationship with birdie doesn’t define you. while your relationship with her doesn’t define you *fully*, it is still an important part of your character. how can you be friends with someone you have admitted to not agreeing with the actions of? you can believe that she can be better, but you can also distance yourself from her until she makes self-improvement and proves she’s a better person. i’m having such a hard time wrapping my head around the logic. you shouldn’t be friends with people that repeatedly does bad things and isn’t a good person. you’re choosing to associate yourself with that person, so you must take accountability for supporting her actions through your continuation of your friendship.

Oh god so I do agree with most of this video but please listen to me and some other people, even if you want to personally be friends with Birdie I really think it's best if you get the hell away from them. Sure they can change, but they've had 4 years too and refuse to address anything, and you seem to be to timid to stand up for anything wrong they've done in the past, so you being in their life won't ever improve Birdie for the better. Infact being Birdie's friend and trying to stay close to them can actually hurt them more as it encourages them to stay glued to the internet, and refuse looking for help outside of a screen. Synni, I know you want to be friends with Birdie and I know you think they can change for the better and you can choose your friends all you'd like but please refrain from interacting with them. Just because you haven't had any negative experiences with them yet dosen't mean they constantly rub it off to others, they're a bad person and they've refused to change multiple times, remaining their friend without guidance to new behavior is bad, and no matter how hard you can try at some point of time you will always adjust to what your friend's would like you to be. Stay safe man, I know you're not a child and that you know that they've done bad, but don't keep following them along even if you haven't completley or at all adapted their behavior. (Sorry if I mentioned anything about you being Birdie's friend now, im just saying if you decide to or still are but I am not accusing you of still currently being her friend.)

It should ring a bell to not be friends with them, they are quite litellary racist and transphobic, and of course while that doesn't mean you are since again, you are two different people, It's not alright to be ok and push it aside and continue being friends with them. They aren't going to change as long as they're here on the internet. They've refused to changed. Keeping her with you will promote her to stay more and more and think her actions are ok since her friends don't speak out about it.

I feel like what you said makes sense, even if you are friends with this person that doesn't really make you like them or agree with their outputs, people can disagree and still be friends, the comments that are saying don't be friends with birdie are valid in a sense but at the same time, its synni's choice to end the friendship or not, birdies problems are their problems, not synni's, synni should not be roped into birdies problems just for being friends with them, yes people may disagree with me on that front, but I have respect for synnis choice on the being friends with a birdie, also, I'm glad you apologized for all these things and explained yourself, and I respect you, I personally had no quarrel with you as I tried to understand what it must have been like, and like you said in the video having conversations being leaked with no context what so ever can be hurtful to the person and a disrespect to their privacy, for those who are reading my comment, imagine if one of your more sensitive talks with someone got leaked out of context? how would you feel? awful and hurt, this is a problem I see a lot in honestly... a lot of places it bothers me to say the least, I understand if there's context and its for a good cause, like in the case something against the law is happening (ill leave it up to you to decide what to put in there, I don't wanna make anybody uncomfortable with this comment) however most of the time it is not needed and is especially bad if no further context is given. anyway, synni be safe and I hope you are doing better, and to anybody else reading, I hope you have a nice 24 hour day.

I think some things that people have to understand is: You shouldn't just let bad people behind in the dust. People are capable of change and development. Things should be addressed, but you should never "attack" or "cancel" anyone. The comments in the video are completely valid, but 1. It's hard to immediately break friendships with people you've been with for a fair time and just NOT try your best to defend them, even if you yourself find what they are doing is wrong. 2. Responsibility over a whole platform is pressuring, especially as a kid. Also the comments saying shit like “Birdie can’t be fixed” really just.. ugh. People can become better. She can. She may not right now, and it may take her years but people CAN change. The things she did in the past don’t have to and honestly shouldn’t be forgiven. That being said, we don’t have to forgive her for her to change. I was a bad person in the past, and I have also hurt many people and hearing people say shit like that specifically about birdie made me feel like I couldn’t change. I hadn’t done any of the killing vids or drawing nsfw like that like Birdie did but I was a very selfish and toxic friend. But you know what? I did. I did change. I just had to distance myself from all the people saying I couldn’t, acknowledge my flaws, apologize and do better. I’m just going to say this right now; I’m not entirely sure if Birdie’s parents raised her well. Don’t get me wrong, those livestreams they were calm and tried to deescalate the situation when Birdie wasn’t cooperating. But if they had raised Birdie well, she wouldn’t be doing that stuff in the first place. They should have recognized that their child was way too attached to the internet and was having extremely concerning outbursts. Again, I don’t know their deal, but I am VERY suspicious. TO REHIDERATE I don’t know what they’re doing but it doesn’t matter if they were seeming supportive, something is VERY OFF AND ITS CONCERNING ME.

Ok so idk what happend to my comment beforehand, but the thing is her parents did.. they tried to get her off before multiple times but she literally screams and threatens to uh oh herself. Not to mention they actually payed for her therapy but she lied to the therapist to weasel out of it. Birdie CAN change, but there’s no way in hell she’s going to change like this. She needs to get the hell of the internet and stay off for a while till she can gather herself back together, hone up for the garbage and disgusting things she did (which she yet has to do for any of them.) and THEN it’s maybe acceptable to get back with a friend group online. Her online friends and including past Synni (why by all means didn’t do any or relates to any of this stuff), never spoke about any of the terrible things she does, cause she doesn’t regret it and she personally attacks you if you call her out of wrong, her friends are genuinely scared of Birdie for being doxxed if they speak about anything wrong she’s done. Birdie needs to grow up, she’s 16 now and like you said dude, it’s been FOUR YEARS and even as a minor, any 16 year old knows a hell of a lot better then to not do these garbage things. She doesn’t want to change, it’s obvious, the only way to make her change is to ignore her and don’t let anybody interact or give her attention, she needs to find it out herself and get the hell off the computer. I’m not going to accept the entire “oh she’s just a kid” argument, a 12 year old knows better, hell most 9 year olds do, it’s her fault personally and her age doesn’t reflect that as she continues the gross things she’s done before.

i personally feel like everyone that was complaining about her making 'abuseive art' and 'romanticising' it is a little too far i mean it can be made as vent art exactly like the while dollieguts situation and i can with my background of trauma and abuse understand why people do it because ive done it once or twice before, showing your emotions/hatred/trauma in a cute/innocent way it can be a way of understanding and moving forward,,, but she should at leaste state somewhere- like here that it isnt ok.... she also cant control who sees their content and she shouldn't be in control of it either- her content has changed since she first started sure but its natural- maybe she became more for older people and the kids that still stick around to see her more mature ages art/animations- i feel like thats more of the parents/viewers fault more then the creator she's definitely on the right track with putting trigger warnings and thats all she should have to do (im dyslexic so please be nice about punctuation and spelling errors also just in general miscommunication) (also idk what pronouns they use so ill change it if i used the wrong ones by accident ahh)

I appreciate the point of using the f slur. It really gets me going when everyone assumes that people have the same understanding of the word. When someone uses it knowing the full meaning of the word and meaning it in a derogatory way, that’s when it’s hurtful. But if you never knew the word was derogatory, you can be cut some slack, even if the evidence for that claim is sparse

I am very happy that you're addressing this without lashing out or being ignorant. As someone who has watched your videos when I was around that same age, you have come a long way. I personally took a break from the animation community because it became so much that I left from like 2018 until the end of 2020. Yet I kind of still found out about it in a passive manner while scrolling through KZitem. You have been a big inspiration and one of the many reasons I started drawing digitally so I am glad that you're recovering and improving.

I have only one problem as far as I've gotten into the video. Keep in mind I am slightly younger than you, so my moral compass and understanding might not be "there" yet. I saw you said "birdie has been nothing but nice to me, so I stayed friends with her" and it doesn't give me a good feeling. Sure, she could've been nice to you, but that doesn't change the fact that she's done terrible things. I understand that you can't control the things she has done, but staying friends with her, heck, still being in contact with her after seeing with your own eyes what a terrible person she is kinda counts as letting it slide. other than this, thank you for making this and taking your time. This is what a true apology looks like. edit: wrong pronouns.

The fact you've made this apology video and that you've adressed (hopefully) everything there is to this drama is very mature of you. I really hope to see good things coming after this point but of course it's impossible to really satisfy everyone.. Either way, thank you for making this video! And thank you for adressing this drama. Ngl, when i first heard of this drama i was a bit shocked, i really didn't wanna see you in a bad light and i've never really seen you in such. Sure, there obviously are things i don't approve of but i've always been open to hearing your side. When you began discussing about how barely anyone came to you and asked for your side of the drama it took me aback, i really thought more ppl would've tried to get your side heard but i guess not.. and it's really disappointing tbh. But hopefully now things are sorted and you can really get some help for your issues and so we can go back to seeing some goofy stuff from you again! I really love seeing your goofy content as well as your animations!

I just now saw this and it felt so nice hearing you explain the problems. The maladaptive daydreaming makes more sense once I heard it. As someone who makes characters go through trauma to vent (I've never been abused, at least not that I now of) and so knowing you were drawing what you felt or even dreamed about, to me, changes the entire setting. Plus the abusive background changes a lot since the the things you experience in life can change how you see people, how you function in society and, in here, how you draw and what you draw. I should know pretty well (I'm autistic so I view the world kinda different and was raised as if I was neurotypical (non autistics) so it was a difficult upbringing) Maladaptive daydreaming is easy kinda notice about yourself, you could get a therapist but I personally think that it's so invasive that it's kinda hard to not admit or think you have it- Also the fact you brought up sleeping beauty and suck and the idea behind it makes even more sense- you really didn't know better and how could you? We all are raised with things in our lives like this-many people in abusive relationships because that's how society (boomer humor mainly) depicts relationships. I won't deny that abusive relationships are horrible but unfortunately it is glorified to a point there's people who think it's normal, it's quite sad The slurs and comments, yeah I genuinely thought you disliked my gender and ones like it- so hearing it was meant to be a joke makes it better but not ok, and you realized that so thank you, so very much. Now with the birdy thing, you admitting that you just cared about them and disliked the decisions, I can fully understand that. I tend to be overly caring and even put myself out there as a stand-in therapist. (I am not trained Ik this and everyone who talks to me know- you should get a real one none the less) I'm lucky to yet be betrayed and broken. With naturally bad or evil characters I sympathize with them no matter how horrible they are. Although with ones like Nightmare I understand he is a murderer and a bit of an emotional abuser and I would never recommend that ANYONE follows his steps. Even if I feel bad for the guardian- The girlfriend thing, I can feel how much it probably hurts to remember how you treated someone like trash (tell me if I am wrong, I misread a lot because of my autism-) I should know better than most that having your type of personality (obsessive, wanting/needing attention, ect.) and I probably should have noticed it- obsessions are a real pain to contain and control- (I let mine be free as long as it isn't harmful- may not work for you though-) and being with my boyfriend (who knows me pretty well since I'm an open book) I'm 100% obsessed with him and very clingy. Again I REALLY should have noticed that- just know that people understand it and it can be hard but what does mostly everyone's old game say? Stay determined (Lol I'm sorry I wanted to say it, especially since it could be a simpler time for many people) As the therapist friend I know that knowing more than one story is important, I'm very sorry that not everyone realizes that your story is very important as well. When I made my comment I was recommend one video about all that happened- (I had left your fandom for a good while because I kinda grew out, still am but I still see you as an idol) I should NOT have done that. Others should look more into other's stories 100%. Also small thing that annoys me to no end is that people claim Sans is an adult. Sans HAS NO CANNON AGE- I personally like Frans BUT I see Sans as about a 16 year old (that's how old sentries in middle ages were) and frisk about 12-14 (mainly 12 or 13-) Another thing you said you're confused with your sexuality- well being the person I am I want to give you ideas on what you could be- (Tw this will mention sex, but I think you would expect that-) You mentioned you would like a no sex-relationship with a female (As an asexual who loves everyone (pan) I understand 100%) but you don't mind with males (tell me if that's wrong- and if you just don't want sex try looking into Asexuality) You can be attracted to people and just don't want sex with that type of person- for an example; Heterosexual but Biromantic. Romantic means you love whatever genders you like So you could date a girl but just don't want sex with her, this is 100% valid and ok! Also if you're unsure about a romantic relationship without sex then just remember that sex without love exist, why can't love without sex? Sorry if everything I said confused you more- you can ask me if you need clarification Sorry for the small rant I just felt so much better and thought I would share-

As someone who is trans, gay, a victim of abuse. I truly cannot except this apology. And you guys can call me an ass hole for what I’m about to say but idc. To say stuff like “birdie has done wack stuff” “birdie has done ‘questionable’ things” completely down plays the severity of what birdie has done. And you can say you think birdie has changed but birdie has literally not changed since his original drama and continues to do horrid shit. You obsessed over him and continued to be his friend while fully know the horrid and fucked up shit he has done. And some of the horrid stuff he has done took place while you were friends with him. And to say shit like he was always nice to you and kind to you comes of as extremely selfish. Because you know he’s hurt others and you know CURRENTLY he is a bad person and has been a bad person!! He hasn’t changed and so far hasn’t shown he is gonna change. To say he was always nice to you. And that the reason you still hung with him downplays the bad shit birdie has done and has affected others. It’s just selfish to say something like that basically. And while you are entitled to your own feelings. It’s still not okay. Just because birdie was nice to you doesn’t mean he’s a good guy. You saw and knew the bad shit birdie has done, knowing he’s a bad person and still stood by being his friend. And while you may not support or defend his bad actions. You still supported him as being his friend and just supporting him personally. That just isn’t okay because he is a bad person and hasn’t shown any signs of improvement. Basically you avidly and openly were friends with a bad person and you still don’t seem to have a problem with that knowledge. also the way you handled the f slur situation omfg that enraged me. Holy shit. I don’t even want to get into the specifics but you downplayed it. Even if that’s wasn’t the intent, It truly seemed like you down played it. Saying that word is not okay and even though you seem to know that now, the way you described your thoughts on it is extremely insensitive. And here’s the thing I’m not against or anything for most of my life I looked up to you and followed your content religiously. And honestly hearing this apology there are some parts I like. And there are some points that were just downright disappointing and even enraging. Also you talk about certain situations as if it would be okay in private but not okay in public. Intentional or not you worded certain situations as if they were okay to say in private because they were in private but shouldn’t have been said or done in the first place. This isn’t me trying to hate. This is criticism. But for the community’s that I am apart of that I am affected by I cannot except this apology until I actually see visible improvement.

I’m not defending Synii, what she did was horrible and as someone who uses She/They and identifies with they/them pronouns more. I can fit somewhat into Synii’s shoes, I have a friend, we’re best friends. Rumors have started at my school. That he cheated on his partners, that he faked bullying, that he was toxic. But I’ve been around him a lot and he never did anything wrong, at least when I was around, my friend was super kind to me and his friends and I always believed him even when I believe he stole stuff from me, even when he started a whole drama and used my stuff that I only told him against me. He’s trying to get better, he’s trying very hard to be a better person. I never brought it up to him because we already made up and I do not want to bring it up anymore in fear of causing more. Sometimes I feel as though they do not like me and think I’m obsessive over them, I’m always wanting to call because he understands and I love talking to him. He’s actually the only one who doesn’t downplay my pronouns and or my sexuality (Asexual/Aromantic) He also doesn’t judge me for which uncomfortable around men, me having ADHD tires people out. I’m very sorry for leaking all my pain, I thought I needed someone to talk to rn

I wasn't apart of this drama at all; I'm just an onlooker; but that fact that youre trying to own up to what you did and want to fix it is proof that you're trying to improve. I have no right to accept/deny this apology since I wasn't directly involved, but I do think this is a good first step into becoming a better person and repairing the damages caused. To me though, this feels like a genuine apology. You are addressing the concerns and are talking about them directly, and you aren't blaming people that need not be blamed. I still- don’t understand it much I wasn’t really part of the drama but this is honestly the first time I’ve ever heard or seen a youtuber like yourself, apologize in such a great manner and not blaming anyone for your actions, crying about it, and other stuff people do to “apologize”. There is nothing more satisfying than admitting the wrongs you (and others) have done and getting the best support from it, the situation within itself is just... it happens.
