Thank you so much for sharing all the incredible scenery in the Whites! The dwarf trees are a testament to the severe weather up there. Only a few can grow over 5000' and only in protected coves. Black Spruce, more common in Alaska than New Hampshire, can withstand that weather as well as Balsam Fir (the ones that smell like Christmas trees). Best wishes on your continuing adventure!

Love the Webster Cliff Trail! Seeing most of the Crawford Notch from up there is great. And it will always hold a special place in my heart as that is where I first introduced my Grandson to hand feeding the Grey Jays.

You are both getting to be pros at navigating the rocks in the trail almost without mentioning the difficulties! I remember when you first started the rocks were more of a hurdle and you couldn't keep from grousing over them! Sure glad you've made it seem easy now!!!

I like the video of Bluegrass coming down the rocks. It gives me a sense of just how difficult this section is. Heal quickly.

Monroe is my second favorite mountain to summit up on that ridgeline of Presidentials. Washington is of course #1. New Hampshire is the Queen of the Views for sure. A series of terrific thunderstorms rolled through the late afternoon/evening/night the second time I stayed at Lake of the Clouds. I got up during the night and there were thru-hikers sleeping on every table and bench in the dining area. The main window faces west over the valley and we watched the storms moving up over the mountains and across the notch to us. A group of Franciscan brothers in training took refuge between storms before heading down to safety. They sang grace for our dinner meal. It was truly amazing grace. Ethereal.

You should learn to yodel 😂 I’ve been to the summit of Mt. Washington twice. They say you can see 3 states and Canada from the summit if you are lucky enough to have a clear visibility day.

There ARE some places to camp/stop after Mt. Washington. However all but one require descent from the ridgeline. That one is the Madison hut with the usual lack of guarantees that comes with a hut. Plus it does not have a dungeon like Lake of the Clouds.
@ChuckHowell-Outdoors

Yep. We went by the Madison hut. Getting down below tree line can be tough
