Lots of sloshing trail after the hurricane. I admire how you and Bluegrass take a sensible approach to each day and figure out your plan for the day. You're also flexible if those plans need to change. You've both done a great job. Mama K awaits!

What a day! Debby left a lot of mud and water. Glad your pack contents stayed dry on the creek crossing. That climb was straight up at the end. The mountains are beautiful. Nice having the climb done when you start out the next day and also nice not dreading doing all of it thinking you were only doing half 😊.

That might have been the same creek crossing that Nahamsha couldn't get around last year when everything was flooded due to multiple heavy rains. The guy in the truck asking if you were thru-hikers LOL. "Uh, no, we're just fording a swollen river for the fun of it!". Took me years of birding to find a Spruce Grouse and you had one walking right in front of you.

Hahahaha. It’s a whole lot different this year. I think I could have reached out and touched the Grouse.

It's a funny thing about the names of lakes and ponds. It has nothing to do with the size. They're called that depending on how the person named it when they first discovered it. There are lots of lakes out there that are ponds, and lots of ponds that are called lakes.

On an earlier video, I saw you hopping from rock to rock to avoid sloshing through the stream that was the middle of the trail. But at some point, you got to say "The hell with it" and hike on down the center of the stream/trail. Putting on wet boots in the morning is never fun. Just as long as they're not frozen!
