Even with her fall, she still took a medal home. So proud of Suni!! Hoping she will recovery from her kidney problems and compete for AA. It'll be amazing to see her uneven bar routine again. She does everything so elegant and smooth. ❤❤

I reinforces just how tiny Simone Biles is when the 2nd place finisher is still taller than her when she's on the 1st place podium. In that last one, she was only a head taller than the 3rd place finisher.

@@susanfaulkner2304sweetheart it has everything to do with it if you understand the history of gymnastics. Here's one for you Dominique Daws (aka Awesome Dawsome) opened up the doors for young black girls to get more recognition in gymnastics. She was so phenomenal that even when the the judges would underscore her (because of the color of her skin the crowd would boo them and give her a standing ovation). Bill Cosby made noise back then and used his platform to speak about the injustices against black girls in gymnastics. Also, there was a journalist that would write a column about Dominique Dawes in the newspaper and the discrimination that was present during that time in female gymnastics. So to see that the doors have opened up for more women of color (especially black girls is making history). Michelle Obama even posted about it. Also they did a special on TV about the black young ladies in college gymnastics that was breaking barriers and changing the game. So yes it has everything to do with it. There was one more black gymnast to do it before Dominique Dawes. This is history in the making and I'm here for it. l get to see it while Im still on this earth. 😊

I have a feeling that the US Womens Gymnastics Team for Paris 2024 is going to be women of color/minorities. The main team can only be 4....if everyone stays healthy I predict Simone Biles Shilese Jones Jordan Chiles Gabby Douglas (if she qualifies because she really hasn't competed) or Suni Lee If this happens its going to be historic!!!

Why would that be historic? Not that I would mind the team members , but why?
@smoochesnfeathers9493
9 ай бұрын
@maggietheprincesscastle9776 Because there's NEVER been a more culturally diverse team to represent the. U.S. before. Especially if the majority of the team is black. Last year made history at the US championships because, for the first time in history, it was a clean sweep of the AA with all black women. 2016 2 black women, 1 hispanic, and 1 Caucasian (I Aly is Jewish, but I don't know for sure). 2020 2 black women, 1 hmong. If it's an All black team that would be historic for US, meaning people of color. No to mention, if Suni Lee, Gabby, and Simone go, that's historic because you have all the last 3 Olympic AA gymnasts on one team.
