Tim Cook navigated the daunting task of stepping into the shoes of a legendary figure, a challenge under immense pressure that is hard to fathom. Yet, he remained grounded, steering Apple with a passion and vision that arguably surpassed what Jobs could have achieved. In my view, he stands as the epitome of the best CEO globally. This was evident when contrasting the widespread layoffs in other major tech companies; notably, Apple emerged unscathed, avoiding any layoffs. Tim Cook doesn't merely articulate values; he embodies and lives by them. ❤

Apple was notoriously protective of information regarding Steve Jobs’s health, especially toward the end. He hadn’t died yet (that was the day after), so there was no news that legally required reporting yet, so they pretended that nothing was wrong.

Cook and his company are mercenary to the core. A cracked iPhone 7 Plus screen costs $180 to replace. No exceptions, no discounts, no warranties. And I had to pay $180 twice in less than four months. A trip to the Apple store is a journey to the heart of darkness because Cook knows he has little competition and can rip off consumers subjected to this integration of products and services that only Apple can pull off on this scale. Cook comes across as this Southern gentleman from tiny Robertsdale, AL but he pays his retail representatives poorly and, worse, gives them no empowerment to strike fair bargains with the customer. Everything is unchangeably dictated by Cook and Silicon Valley elites. Apple has STILL given no credible and believable reason for removing the earphone jack almost three years ago. And they have all this technology and can’t give the customer a sturdy screen. Cook would rather have you spend extra big bucks on listening devices which only work on Apple and pay $180 all the time for screen replacements.

Bartosz Adamowicz The best thing Apple did was to start a smartphone trend. That made them the collosal power they are today. They didn't invent anything, they didn't technologically revolutionized anything, they didn't even start new things. The tablet idea was invented in early 2000's, the smartphone was the replacement of the palmtop and even Apple didn't invent it first. I admit they had good marketing and PR department, but they didn't revolutionized anything.

Thus says The Lord God: This world is stricken, a corrupt tree which bears only bitter fruit! You have done this, O peoples of the earth! You have done this, O men of power and wealth, all you people of excess! YOU HAVE DONE THIS! For the sake of greed, to fulfill your insatiable appetites and ever-increasing lusts, YOU HAVE DESTROYED THE GARDEN! Therefore cut down the tree and burn the branches! Break apart the stump and pull up the roots!... For thus declares The Lord: As you have sown, SO SHALL YOU REAP! And that which you have withheld from the poor and the needy shall be taken from you, and you shall suffer! Behold, even all you have wrought in the earth shall return atop your own heads, for I shall strike you down and lay you waste! - Desolation upon desolation, calamity upon calamity, plagues and famine until you are utterly consumed! Behold, My people are afflicted, And My faithful ones are persecuted, Imprisoned and put to death! My little ones are brought to harm, And the innocent are murdered in droves, CAST OFF AS REFUSE!... Therefore the afflicted shall be Given wealth beyond imagining, And the meek shall inherit the earth; The little ones shall be taken, And the innocent shall return home... And they shall be My sons and daughters, Forever, life without end. Yet you, O most wicked generation, shall be cut off! I shall cast you out, and you shall remain outside the gates! For I do not know you! Says The Lord... There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. For thus says The Lord to the generation of His wrath: As a lion springs forth suddenly from its hiding place and lays hold of the prey, so shall I break the neck of this generation and drag it away, until every last remnant of your wickedness is devoured! Behold, you shall be broken without hand, and the wickedness which dwells in the midst of you shall be torn in pieces!... And who among the nations shall deliver you from the mouth of The Lion?! For I am risen up in My anger, I am come forth in My fury! Therefore let every way crack and every foundation crumble; let the earth give way! Let the high places fall with a great crash, and let every false image perish before the great and awesome power of The Lord! See, your wealth has come to nothing, O peoples of the earth. For as it is written: Your wealth shall rot away, your fine clothes shall be eaten by moths, your gold and silver shall become worthless, and shall be for a witness against you in the Day of Wrath, and shall eat your flesh like fire. Thus all the treasure, which you have heaped up against the Day, shall bury you. Therefore kneel, kneel before The Lord of Hosts, humble yourselves before The King! Kiss The Son! For in YahuShua alone is your salvation, in Messiah alone is there deliverance in the Day of Wrath, your only escape. For He is The Lamb; behold, He is also The Lion!... Yet you will forsake Him in the name of another. Did you think, O most wicked generation, the man of perdition could save you from the Day of Wrath?! Did you think you could escape the Day of Judgment, which I pronounced from the beginning?! You are deceived, even as he is deceived! For the reign of evil shall be abolished, The wicked stricken and the evil of heart blotted out, Extinguished in the lake of My burning heart!... For My heart is set ablaze in My anger, And My countenance burns like a raging fire; My sadness is infinite, the weight of Unending sorrow covers Me... For as I live, says The Lord, I take no pleasure in the destruction Of the wicked, but call all in the earth To repent, to turn from their evil ways... And return to Me. I see lots of people verbally sparring over Apple good or not. Should we worship Jobs or not...etc. The short answer is: Worship no person, no matter how iconic in an industry. And no I won't pass a qualitative judgement about Apple. Their history (a bumpy one, as is any history in high-tech) speaks for itself. If you want to like them, you'll find reasons to in their history. If you want to hate them, you'll find reasons as well. Now if you want a more or less accurate history on personal computing, and this predates Gates and Jobs by a long shot, at least from the sits on a desktop appeal... (1970) Please see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_personal_computers. Also from a Graphical User Interface (GUI/UI) perspective, we have Xerox, in 1973, not Apple to thank for innovating the metaphors of icons and the device called a mouse... these are things we all take for granted today. For more information see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_graphical_user_interface As for contributions to the industry... Did Gates and Jobs help push things along? Sure. But that was inevitable. Had they not stepped up others would have. What do I hope you learn from this? Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering are HARD. It takes vast teams of people and many decades to make the kinds of progress we've seen since the 1970s. It takes even longer for people to adopt radical changes, once they've been innovated. (i.e. It took from 1973 until the mid 1980s before GUIs became popular among those who used the PCs of the day... and even longer still for them to make it into businesses and schools...) So in short -- 1. Learn history. The information is out there and easy to find. 2. Stop blinding worshiping today's demagogues. That doesn't mean don't find inspiration in them. Just keep in mind they're humans and standing on the shoulders of their predecessors, who are also humans standing on the shoulders of their own predecessors...etc. Why trust me with this info? Well... I started tinkering with electronics in the late 1970s, before I my age had flipped to double digits. And I have been programming computers since the early 1980s (i.e. before GUIs!). I began doing it professionally in the mid 1990s, after getting my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. So you could say that programming and computers aren't just a job, they're a passion for me.
