Deadbolt at my old house could be unlocked with any key. Found that out when I accidentally unlocked it with a key meant for entirely different lock for something else completely. Good to know the quality of things is "just good enough to make others think it's good."

The insane thing those Level Locks are installed in a metric fuckton of new construction homes. I install them daily on production homes. 500k plus homes, Lennar builders here put them on every single house they build basically here. I learned since I install them all the time I could open it in half a second with extreme ease

The Level Lock HomeKit enabled mechanism isn’t a scam. That works very well (I have one). What IS awful, however, is the lock itself that is offered as part of Level Lock’s bundle. Level Lock offers just the mechanism by itself that stealthily uses your existing lock or any other lock. This is what I purchased and retains the original look, security, and functionality of your existing lock.

At that kind of pricing you could get Abloy disc detainer deadbolts* that are basically impossible for most burglars to pick, since you need a very specialized tool to do it. *And save over $100 per door

that's the problem with this channel. it fails to ever recognize that no lock will be unpickable and having A lock that you actually use is often enough. if it's locked, they will kick the door down or likely be good enough to pick most locks.

Which Apple laptop are you referring to? They all have the M chips now and you’d have a HARD time beating that power and efficiency with anything AMD or Intel. But I’m a computer guy so maybe don’t respond and embarrass yourself. PS I have my own reasons for never buying an Apple computer or laptop but saying they are 1/5th spec is just a lie.

I like the level locks that you can use with your existing hardware. You get the benefit of a "smart" lock, but you can use a much better deadbolt.

@@ERROR-CitationNeeded I don’t think you understand. The deadbolt looks *exactly* like it did before the Level integration. There is nothing to indicate there is an internal Level upgrade from the outside since the Level portion is not visible. I hope this makes sense.

The bolt is also a flimsy and hollow straw and contains the battery. You can just pull/push really hard on the door and fold the bolt over. I don't think pick resistance even matters on this lock.

You would think being apple the first thing they would do is look at the normal ways people beat locks everyday and make sure all those “holes” are patched on their smart lock, cause if you can’t even stop the techniques used right now or even offer any sort of protection short of it takes them a second to get in it then there is an issue

You don’t need to use the level locked though. You can keep your original lock system, and use the level as just the deadbolt. Won’t affect the key. I think that’s the info that people are missing.
