This helmet file was downloaded from Thingiverse.com. It was 3D printed with PLA and painted with Rustoleum filler primer and Rustoleum Gloss Black. This process works very well on glossy painted surfaces. The graphite powder was bought on eBay. It's good so have a brush and some cotton pads for an even spread, but in my case I used some cotton filling i had around. Always wear gloves for protection, and a mask is recommended as well. And...don't do what I did and limit your workspace. As stated in the video, I only lost some powder, not a whole lot. So no biggie. Thanks for watching and I hope this video helps those looking for a chrome/metal finish on their projects. The next step is to seal this process with a clear coat!
*Edit: I just remembered that I actually bought the graphite powder from the link provided below, not ebay. You want the powder that is very fine at less than 5 microns. Thanks...
