@@ashleyrose424 I think when you're alone and out of view of most people, like being under a bridge fishing, you should act that way towards anyone who approaches and keep some distance. Normal folk will respect that and have a conversation or ask their question if they came to ask one. Only someone with bad intentions would continue to close in at which point you have a reasonable enough answer to take further measures like declaring they need to stop aggressing and presenting your firearm.

@gloriousapplebees

@@ashleyrose424 Well that's going to come down to some personal judgement. I would back up and try to maintain an air of politeness and ask them to please give me some room, friendly people will probably do so, or it will be clear if maybe they don't understand (if they are maybe mentally disabled in some way or a language barrier), otherwise if they ignore your request that's not a good sign to start. If someone doesn't seem to be a threat and doesn't understand personal space that's kinda up to you whether you want to just tolerate it for the interaction, explain it to them, or just excuse yourself. Recognizing a threat and naturally assuming they are just passing by or just striking a conversation are hard to judge sometimes. All kinds of people go under bridges. But how they don't have gear and came directly up to him would have been an indicator of danger. Just know what to look for and read the situation. But doing time in prison teaches you how to read someone's demeanor better and their ill intentions. A good learning experience, I think. Stay safe out there.
