My theroy: very logical conclusion. 1.The guy obviously came with supplies if he built the stairs. (That includes the wood used) 2. The Japanese have similar way of buikding without the use of nails but you would have to be a master carpenter. 3. He didnt take credit for his work or payment be wanted to do it drom the kindaness of his heart.

The stairs actually have a slight bounce when you walk on them. As far as the railing I would imagine a lot of people almost lost their balance going up them. Walking up steps without railings plays in your center of gravity for some reason. Ive experienced walking up steps without railings and it feels odd and you pay attention to your balance a lot more. Could there be notches between the steps and the flat board underneath that hold the step in place. I'm stumped as to how the wood is curved and all that but maybe notched out. Locked in place the weight of one holds up another

Actually, not mysterious at all. These are French made steps, made by master French carpenters in France, and shipped piece by piece over to the United States. There are similar stairs in France, but not many in the US at that time. A master French carpenter named Rochas accompanied them to the states. He then simply had to assemble the stairs. The steps are made of French wood, this has been verified. The bishop had already paid for the steps and arranged with the architect to have them shipped. That is why the nuns were confused when the man showed up. They had no idea it was all arranged. The bill for the steps in France has been found. It seemed miraculous to the nuns, but it was all arranged by their bishop who did not give them the details.

if i was to give an alternative logical explination, not that I believe mine or someone elses, I've no idea. but someone may of heard the nuns preying, maybe asked what are they preying about. then the dude might have either built something like it before, or knew how to build them. Maybe he took his own stairs and moved them, which might have taken many years to build. Or he just reproduced them? Even if that was true, there is still no denying that this carpenter is the best carpenter that ever lived

There is no mystery here, and definitely no miracle ! It was built by an expert carpenter, yes. But it was unstable and unsafe from the get go as it had a steep incline, so much so that the nuns had to crawl down to prevent falling. And an iron railing had to be added years later to prevent accidents. In fact it hasn’t been used as a staircase for decades to prevent structural collapse. The staircase does have a central wooden support, an inner wooden stringer of small diameter which functions as a solid pole. We also know the name and origin of the french carpenter who definitely had an entire and comprehensive set of tools, which has also been documented. There was payment made for services rendered as there were receipts found and we even know where he is buried. Spruce is the wood that is was made of, which is hardly uncommon in the Americas. Samples of the wood are not allowed to be taken for scientific examination, so it’s impossible to determine the exact species of spruce used. Wooden pegs were the norm at the time since iron nails were expensive and difficult to come by. The church is a privately owned ‘for profit museum’ so there is an obvious financial incentive and motive to perpetuate a ‘miraculous’ mystery, especially in a religious setting. And lastly, the ‘mysterious carpenter’ rode in on a donkey you say, well he definitely made asses of a lot of believers ! 🙄🤦🏽♂️🤣

The mystery is a simple one for me. The Archbishop purchased the staircase, had it shipped, instructed the nuns to pray and instructed the carpenter as to when he should begin the work. This in no way takes away from the extraordinary craftsmanship, design, choice of wood or free standing double helix construction. All in all a very good story.

A core sample of the wood used in the staircase concluded that it's an unknown type of spruce that's either extinct or from a different continent. So a random dude came by, built a staircase out of a type of wood that doesn't exist for free and after 140 years, the world's best architects say it "might" have a stringer of some sort that holds it up. That's the best we've come up with.

Well, all of you people who comment it was not Saint Joseph, who built the stairs some architect from France I strongly disagree with you. There are 33 steps, one for each year of our Lord's life to complete turns indicating the two natures of our Lord human and divine. The word seems to indicate it similar to some wood located way up north not from France, and this idea that the bishop did it behind their backs and never told them is a bit silly the old man showing up on the donkey is some kind of young man from France. That's a carpenter that doesn't let them know who he is disappears mysterious see without Payment, I don't think so. Sounds a lot like the people who try to destroy the miracle of the multiplication of the Loaves and fishes saying that all those people had the sandwiches with them I mean, really they all had the same sandwich and they were afraid to take them out, but Jesus miracle was to motivate them to take out their sandwiches instead of the actual multiplication of Lowe's and fishes if you don't believe in a miracle, you can always try to find some ridiculous reason not to but I think the people that want to take away all the miraculous powers of God are definitely stumped when it comes to creation. Are they going to say it's some kind of random chance accident that all the incredible laws that govern the universe just happen to come into existence out of nothing?! As the author wrote in the song of Bernadette for those who believe no proof is necessary for those who do not believe no proof is possible. When I started my KZitem channel, I just named it Father Burke, I thought well that's simple. There's not gonna be another father Burke KZitem channel boy was I surprised ! Lol 😂 but I do enjoy father Burke Masters channel A lot of people that try to find my channel wind up going to his lol 😂 Just another one of life's mysteries, I guess

There is no St Joseph coming back. He’s dead. That’s the problem with Catholicism. They pray to St’s instead of Jesus or confess their sins to a father. There’s only one Father and that’s God and his son Jesus. Jesus is only our mediator to the father, not a human man.
