We have much the same taste although my waist is not as small as yours-well, I’m 70 years old too. Winter ‘24, I’m planning to plow through my stash and decide if sewing is still my passion. I’m also planning to get hello fresh to keep me home and fortified. I might get snowed in since I live in Wisconsin

🤣. I actually finished 3 of the projects today and should get 4 more done tomorrow! You’ve got to love knits 🥰. I’ve had to change the fabric of the gala dinner dress as I only had 3.4m of this one 😭 but I’ve cut out the pattern out of something else and it’s going to be so pretty 🤩

Would you ever consider talking about your makeup and how that works with your colour analysis? You have beautiful skin and features, just wonder what you like to get done. You have lovely eyelashes and brows too.

I’m actually allergic to make up so I wear very little. I have my eyebrows and eyeliner tattooed on. I have lash extensions as mascara is the thing that really sets off my allergies. When I’m filming I put on a little pressed powder and eyeshadow and that’s it. 😊

Sewing up the staples isn't always the most exciting but they make so many other things wearable - and that's exciting! I'm totally looking forward to t-shirt hacking. As you were talking about it, it occurred to me that my "block"-pattern for knits is the TATB Agnes. And a crazy little voice at the back of my mind has been trying to convince me that I could totally turn that into a wrap top and make one up before my trip. That voice needs to check in with my time management but a girl can always dream, right? 😬❤

That dress fabric is *GORGEOUS*!! (Yes I might be jealous). I've also got that dress pattern, probably should have a go at fitting it (I have some cotton lawn which would work, and could then re-purpose as the lining).

I really like the idea of the ruched tops so I'm looking forward to seeing those. I also like the look of the waffle jersey. I've checked it out on Pound Fabrics but couldn't see the chocolate brown one. I think you can achieve most if not all, especially if you've made some of them before. PS you made me chuckle when you said the word Anthesis 😋

I'm looking forward to trying it out! The chocolate brown is in the chunky knit fabric I've linked it in the description under "yellow knit". And I would still be calling that fabric the incorrect name if you hadn't pointed out my error!!!! LOLS ;)

I am so jealous of your ability to sew for a full day! I have so many projects ready to be made, but I have arthritis in my back and so can only sew for a couple hours at a time. I am trying out using a standing position with a raised machine, though, so here's hoping I can extend my sewing time! Your projects look lovely and I'm eager to see how the sweater knits sew up.

Have you thought how the heavy waffle knit will look with the fullness of the shrug pattern, give the shrug is designed for lightweight floaty fabrics and appears to have lots of gathering. The shrug fullness in a heavy cotton waffle knit could just end up looking bulky and lumpy and just droop. Will love to see how it goes

I love your flower earrings! I am interested in seeing how you create your ruched T-shirts. I was going to buy Simplicity S9451 to create ruched knit tops but you're right - the Closet Historian always recommends learning how to draft these patterns yourself. I have pinned a lot of Bianca-style ruched tops to a Pinterest list and would like to try them one day. I also like how you are sticking to your favourite T-shirt patterns and tweaking them instead of looking for greener grass. I am still trying to step out of the experimental stage but that will come in time as I work out my personal style. This is a fun process!

Could you make a tank top from the leftover chunky knits? Little cropped tank tops look super cute over dresses. You only need 60 cm or so length. I’d also be interested in how you hem those chunky knits. I’m a separates girl so I love a knit top.
