No matter what anyone ever tells you with negative criticism and negative comments ignore them. You do a lot of good by trying things out and then and through even if it fails always remeber thats still a positive because your tried in the first place. Anyone can give criticism from sitting in a chair or on a couch but without going out and trying like you do then their criticism is just hot air. A very wise man that I have come to be his adopted son told me: a mistake is never a mistake if you learn from it. Just like purposely making your pvc bow fail, "which some would and you might even did though all your trial and errors" and how to fix it. Out of all your videos love how you made those nice Bushcraft knifes out of that machete. I dream that one day my health will be good enough to where I can do that same thing and more. Always keep your creative fire inside anf dont let it burn out. I always looking forward anything you post and videos. Always remeber any thing is possible to achieve as long as you put your mind to it and never quit. You have done alot of amazing videos and being as young as you are I can't wait to see the things you will be doing by the time your my age. God Speed and may the Lord watch over you and bless you.

I agree 💯👍 I was negative the first couple times of making a bow because it wasn't like his and it wasn't perfect but like you said it's an experience and you learn from your mistakes and I have a pile of bows that didn't work out like I thought but I have learned from that experience and now I can make just about any kind of bow or crossbow. Plus these projects give you something positive to do and it makes you feel good inside. This guy is the best

Very nice 👍 I love this style bow and the new way you showed how to put the recurve on the end using the table vice was awesome. That really helped me out a lot. I am pretty handy and pretty crafty but for some reason I had a really hard time making that curve at the end I have tried using cans and I've tried the method of cutting the v out and then reheating it and pressing them together then bending then as one and that worked well but I really like this method and I like the look of it as well so I really appreciate it. I enjoy your videos buddy! You are a great teacher and I really appreciate you.. this project has really helped me with my depression issues and having something crafty to do and make something from nothing kind of thing and have some purpose since being partially disabled so I just wanted to thank you. Keep doing the videos because you are helping people.

You said that the helper bows power is adjustable with a twisted string. Is that because after the initial length is made, the string can be incrementally shortened by simply twisting each end a little by little? Effectively you can make the helper bow be a training aid to get stronger and stronger? I really like watching your videos. You’re very talented. Very skilled. Thank you for sharing your genius!

That is pretty awesome, Not sure what your access to raw hide is, But it would hold that together right over the tape holding it in place. Here is a link for a goat skin in raw hide but you could make handle wraps for all your bows with one side. Just soak it and get it soaked then sew it together and as it dries it will shrink to fit. www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1G5LJC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=21XJJ635XNMI5&coliid=I3CDAWKC1WIXE8

Nice design! Probably the neatest looking penobscot bow I've seen! Just a couple of quick questions: instead of a string between the main bow and helper could a mechanical turnbuckle type linkage be used? Also, can single layers of PVC be laminated into a functional bow limb?

great video as always, really like the way you ended this one:-) . by the way i have an idea for a penobscot inspired bow...maybe (I mean I hope) u can test it out.It is made out of 2 bows but instead of one large and one small, it is made of 2 similar sized ones with the "helper" being behind the main bow, and s shaped somehow working more like a kompresion spring than bending sideways hope u wanna try this one out...no....PLEASE MAKE THIS BOW !!!PS I tryed it small scale like 1 cm thick PVC tube and power and speed went UUUUUP !!! about 4times . don't have the expertize you obviously do to nail this first time but u sure do so again please make this bow, I promise it will be a monster coming out of your hands

Aside from looking WAY cool (kudos) does this style of bow have any advantages over the ones you did with the fiber glass rods inside? I remember you were getting much more power from the fiber glass rod version. Or maybe it's just that the fiberglass code bows were bigger.

This video had me laughing when the thunder hit. The online legend of the "Penobscot bow or Wabenaki bow, invented by Frank Loring (Chief Big Thunder) about 1900." There is a lot of blah blah online about the history or authenticity of this bow. Having thunder commenting while you're building this bow is as good a proof of the bow as any of the other stories in circulation.

@BackyardBowyer

On a bow like this without a large rigid riser, you usually want the arrow to be anywhere between 1 to 2 inches above center. If I were to lower the arrow to center, the limbs of the bow would become unbalanced. It's pretty common for Asiatic composite bows and traditional bows that flex in the handle. Thanks for watching!

EpicTurtle113 That is fine. The bow will end up in the 25-30 pound range. If you made it shorter, the weight would go up. Every inch shorter increases the weight by about 2-3 pounds. Starting with a 48" pipe will give you around 35-40 pounds at 28". Hope this helps!
