I had the rs 125 when i was 17, awsome bike but it is totally different to the 250, virtually double the power! always wanted the 250 but never got round to it till recently had 400s 600s stuff like that, prob guna keep this for a while now, as its my pride and joy abd its getting harder and harder to find a decent one!

Hi. I have a question for you, I'm rebuilding my Rs125, but I want to put a Rs250 front fairing Kit on it (one of the Tyga ones..) Having owned both, do you know how interchangeable they are? cheers
@chubbygold

+SquanderedChicken hi mate, they are totally different frames, so I doubt it's going to be a straight forward swap, try joining the rgv250 forum, loads of info on there, good luck 👍

Yea its pretty nippy, had a few 600s this out handles them, obviously not as quick in a straight line as a 600, but i prefer how this handles.

Beautiful bike mate! I dream of having on of these. Is it much different from a RS125? I currently have a 2004(54) Maunuel Pogialli rep.

Wished they threw in a four stroke engine in there. After owning of each for more than 5 years (same year) boy did it drained my pocket
@chubbygold
8 жыл бұрын
Mike Nguyen a four stroke in that bike is sacrilege! It was made to be light and agile, hence the 250 2 stroke engine. ive not had a problem with it in the 6 years ive owned it. Always let it warm up before riding always use fully synthetic 2stroke oil 👍
@mikenguyen8800

Yeah yeah I know. But two rebuilds later and numerous oil spits really took their toll lol. But mate I sure love the smell of a napalm on a frosty morning.

Will Sherriff i think they use two 34mm Mikuni's,

That's weird every aprilia I've come across use dellorto carbs my rs125 has a 34mm flat slide
@chubbygold
7 жыл бұрын
Will Sherriff i think it might have something to do with the engine being a suzuki rgv 250 engine, then aprilia did a few tweaks on it. All rs250's use a suzuki engine. I think the rs125's used a rotax.
@willsherriff3711

Chubbygold fair enough mate, how much did you pay for this? Cos I'm interested in getting one when I do my a2 licence.
@chubbygold
7 жыл бұрын
Will Sherriff I don't think you can ride one of these with an A2 license, you would need full license, probably not the best thing to jump on anyway straight after a 125 👍
@Showstealer13

it's a bike that requires a lot of maintenance?
@chubbygold
10 жыл бұрын
Depends on how much you use it, rebuilds on top end every 2 thousand miles, just use good oil!
@Showstealer13
10 жыл бұрын
chubbygold thank you chubby for the answer! I will use it for short-medium distances, without getting high speeds.. (in truth I'd be happy just to admire it every day! LOL) I had heard that it was a motorcycle with exorbitant fuel\oil consumptions, fragile exhaust valves... you confirm these rumors? what oil do you recommend?
@chubbygold
10 жыл бұрын
It does use a lot of fuel and 2stroke oil compared to a modern bike, im the same i dont use it often, probably did a 100 miles on it last year lol The power valves can break but again if you refresh the top end check for wear etc you can minimise the risk of breakage. get yourself over to the rgv250 forum loads of great info on there.
