I saw only one picture online of an rs457 with the nrg tail tidy kit on it😂 and it looked like it fit perfectly so fingers crossed🤞🏼 it fits when my bike comes in.

@@andyruhl7739 I have the newer Gen 2 RC 390. I didn't buy the Aprilia since in India the service center's are rare for Aprilia but KTM's are everywhere and I didn't feel the need to jump from 44bhp to just 47bhp. Also the stock brakes of the Aprilia are not as good at the RC's. The tyres are good but I've upgraded by tyres to Pirelli Angel GT2 And Bridgestone Battlax BT023R. The RS 457 is better than the RC in terms of power (it's got an extra cylinder and more power) but from personal experience i'd say the RC can take corners better. But then again I'm not an expert so I'll be waiting for your views as you are the expert here :)

Why would you need new tires? Factory are usually better than you give credit for. My 450SS came with tires people questioned, but handle good in: snow, rain, light ice, wind, have never slipped or lost traction once. And I do 70-100 mph quite often my redline is at 12,000 with over rev to 14,000. I can hit 106mph in 5th gear at 14000 for about 1 minute...If you learn to ride where push down on peg to get most lean you'll always hit that grippy part of the tire.

The stock map is for fuel efficiency. They advertise it in showrooms. Basically what happens when you're at low revs you get surprisingly good mileage like a 300cc but when you redline it drops like 650-700cc bikes. Fuel efficiency is a big factor in its built-in map, but considering you're mostly going to use it for tracks you should definitely opt for tuning it.

I nearly bought one of those. I might still, I don't know. After racing 600s for years, I kind of went off of them, and that bike seems like a smaller version of a 600. We'll see. It looks so cool. When the weight goes up things change a lot. For example, the RS660 is a full sized bike and feels like it, and I suspect the 400RR is similar. The RC390 feels like a bicycle in comparison. The RS457 is close to the 390 in that regard.

For someone's first bike, how would this do the job vs an r3 or 390 for mostly street riding?
@andyruhl7739
27 күн бұрын
Any of those are good. The 390 is actually a little better due to the engine, it has more torque at lower RPM so it's easier to ride for a beginner. The twins need to be revved more to start from a stop. And more shifting around town. The 390 Duke might be the ideal starter bike. If you've never ridden a bike at all, dirt bikes are a better place to start because you are probably going to drop the bike once in a while. Those are much cheaper to fix, if they take any damage at all. Sport bikes can get thousands of dollars of damage just from falling over.

3:18 it doesn't rev higher because.... 1. It's engine is not overly over square like other track focused bikes. 2. It has less compression ratio, even lesser than RS 660. 3. Intake cam is more so designed for strictly street use. I wish it wasn't the case with this bike regarding above mentioned reasons, instead Aprilia should have made a track oriented bike, the power of which should have been electronically restricted at 45bhp for licensing reasons but 🤕🤕
