If the car can get 80 miles a day with 50% cheaper solar materials circa 2030's that would be astonishing... A microcar with such a design could perhaps get 40 miles with a similar set up.... The back wheel cover along with wheel pants are designed for easy removability thats suface area can have a coverable flexible plastic clip-on skin to protect from road debris damage. I think this is a great "commuter" car, and have been holding out for it to appear, but worry every new feature we ask for will delay the release. I think it is better to hold back on Fast-Charging and Solar Cells and let those be in a latter addition to the Aptera after the mechanics of the car have been proven by the early adapters. Thank you so much for making this change. My wife and I already have a 2021 Chevy Bolt, which we love, but it is infamously slow-charging. Two slow-charging EVs between us would be untenable. The Aptera is to be my ride, as I section-hike hours away from our home in Providence. The last thing I'd want to do when I return to my car after several days of backpacking is to pull over by the side of the road for four hours to charge the car before I can start heading home. DC fast-charging will also enable me to drive the car home to Providence from the Aptera HQ.

I was going to say just so you know they both charge at 40-50 kw thankfully aptera has better coefficient of drag. HOWEVER, I feel that in the current environment not going ccs is a mistake, unless tesla is providing access to the supercharger network everybody else is standardizing on ccs, I guess it won't be that big of a deal because they can use a ccs to tesla adapter but good dc cables are heavy and it is going to be fun losing the connector if someone trips on the cord

@@nicholashaines4136 I sold commercial EVSE installations and the market is definitely going to CCS. Tesla 's NACS charger is maxed out with their 250kW SuperChargers, but there are already 350kW CCS stations in the USA and as far as I know the CCS can handle more kW in the future. The giant liquid cooled cords are a big problem no one has solved yet. Our biggest issue was with handicap accessibility. The cords are just too unwieldy for people with mobility or grip issues to handle. Since the CCS adapters are available I don't think Aptera's choice to go with NACS is really a bad thing except everyone will have to buy a $175+ adapter as soon as they get their Aptera. As you said, if they don't get access to super chargers its going to cause a big problem. Thank you SO much for the excellent clarification! A revolutionary brand must be supported by a responsive organization. It's inspirational that you have been able to explore and prepare for an array of contingencies, so you can pivot quickly and effectively when necessary. Keep doing what you're doing! 💥

These are great news indeed. So glad that DCFC is back on track. The last days were kind of unreal. Phew. :)

I don't foresee this having a huge impact on my intended usage, but it is nice to see that for the people which would be more impacted this has been included.

Well done! You stopped the bleeding. In the future I am sure you’ll figure out a better way to reset expectations. I would suggest that you survey your reservation holders to rank choice their projected use cases and then map their preferences to related features.

I'll second that. The live video seemed like a big PR mistake, especially since they weren't clear that it was ONLY the "Launch Edition" that would not have DCFC to start.

@@patrickcorcoran4828 They made a business decision and at the same time made the mistake of assuming that there would be minimal impact on reservation holders. We all know what happens when we assume! They really need to be able to analyze reservation holder data, and they don’t have it.

@@maudessen573 I can't argue with any of that. I am seeing a lot of people saying they would be fine with a no DCFC car for a year or two, so I do wonder if they did a focus group or something, but as an early reservation holder I can say they definitely didn't email me a pole, which would have been a good way to see how this went over.

Wonderful! It is so awesome to see the rapid and positive response to customer and investor feedback. DC fast charging will make this awesome vehicle MUCH more attractive and competitive in the EV and Solar EV marketplace. It will hopefully also aid in attracting the big money needed to move Aptera to production. That is the big nut yet to crack! In any case, I expect the Launch Edition will now gain well more than the aimed for 5,000 vehicles. 🎉

Cool. I was going to get the Aptera anyway, now I am really really going to get the Aptera. 😊. Aptera is revolutionary, and what this planet needs.
