you should try setting forums for your top mud for coping first ,then use a tool crete concrete sprayer to shoot on your face mud for tile and carve the face flat and plum , set your tile and then you have a clean edge and you know your elevation and pitch for coping is spot on because your already set the mud for elevation . thin set and grout and then you know everything is one solid piece

Wow I am very impressed with your skills. From one pool guy to another and if you don't mind me asking, what's the mix you're using as a mortar bed for tile? Watching you true up that wall for tile showed me I've been doing it wrong. Thank you for posting this video.

Please help, so from what I understand here and all other videos you have regarding waterline tiles and coping, I have these questions. 1. For mortar bed, you used half Portland and half Type-s, any bonding adhesive ? or just those half and half? 2. Once the mortar bed / beam is aligned, do you wait for it to dry then apply thin set on it and on the tiles? What thin set do you recommend for pool tiles, not glass tiles. Thank you

So you’re not going to be concerned with the cold joint that’s maybe 1” above the center of the skimmer throat? Why not set the coping first then brown the waterline then waterproof the waterline then tile?
