This five filters are main filter for aquarium
1) sponge filter
2) hang on filter
3) Power filter ( Internal filter )
4) Top up filter
5) canister filter
1) Sponge filter :-
Sponge filters are precisely what the name implies, a sponge through which the aquarium water is drawn. This provides mechanical filtration, and once the sponge has matured and grown bacterial colonies, it provides biological filtration as well. Sponges come in a variety of shapes and sizes, as well as pore sizes.
2) Hang on filter :-
Hang On Back Filters are a very common type of filter used by the average aquarium hobbyist. These type of filters are very versatile in their use due to the fact they are capable of using all 3 types of filtration. If you are thinking of adding one of these filters to your aquarium, I recommend the AquaClear Filters
3) Power Filter ( Internal filter ) :-
An internal filter is designed to sit in the rear corner of the aquarium with the outlet just below the water surface. The sponge contains bacteria, which thrive in the polluted and oxygen-rich water passing through. They convert nasties such as ammonia into nitrite, and nitrite into nitrate.
4) Top up Filter :-
Overhead filters allow for excellent water/air interaction at the filter media, which lets beneficial bacteria work properly and efficiently. If you have a trickle filter system, you can put a layer of nitrate-reducing filter media in the first box. A thin clarifying pad will be perfect for trapping physical particles.
5) Canister filter :-
Canister filters are much more reliable when it comes to filtration for saltwater and planted aquariums. They aren't like power filters that can just be plugged in and placed on the tank. These require hoses, biological filtration, routine cleanings, and they're quite expensive.
