wouldnt be a bad idea to mention that riccia needs to be contained or it will grow everywhere. even a single cell of riccia will grow into a big mass

Riccia is buoyant and grows best floating. I grow a lot of it and sell it. Keeping it down is pain as it grows it floats up. The Riccia at the bottom won’t be as bring green as Riccia on the water surface.

My LFS had this as "Guppy Grass", but I never could find this plant when searching for it. I had NO idea how to grow it, but it has absolutely TAKEN OVER My Fluval Spec. The shrimp love to crawl over and graze on it, and I'm sure the baby shrimp hide in it. I will try and tie some down to some lava rock and 'plant' it at the bottom, see it it will carpet. THANK YOU for identifying this plant where no one else could!!

I ordered riccia like 2 weeks ago and the shipping company lost the package for likr 4 days D: all the riccia I got was like a chocolate milkshake-mush, I hope it revives cause it's a really pretty plant. Btw supergluing both of the ends, at the end of the process is always easier to me. plus you avoid supergluing your fingers to a rock :P

Been growing this for a year or so. It hates staying at bottom, my bottom dweller fishes also hates it when it stays bottom. It floats, overgrows on the surface. Rinse and repeat.

Got some riccia today, 4 packs, but it does not look as green as yours...lots of yellowing and some green. I put it in my aquarium to float, under high light and hope it will come back and look like yours. The subwassertang I also got was very green and looks healthy, so am pleased with that. Is the riccia beyond hope or will it come back?

I have a large dragon stone in my tank and the top measures 10cm * 20cm. Would it be possible to superglue it directly to the stone if I remove enough water to expose the top of the stone (It would be too destructive to my setup to try to remove the stone in order to use fishing line) ? Or would you suggest some other moss to carpet the top of the stone?
