When clamping together a large areas use a torque wrench or torque measuring tool to keep even pressures across your clamping boards. The unequal torques on the bolts will give you the wave or bulges due to the uneven pressures from the bolts.

one tip....coming from a tile installer lol, when you trowel, trowel all in one direction so you know that all of the air escapes. Im sure with the bolts and weight of the pavers it did fine, but hey If I can share any tips of my own why not. Awesome progress btw!

That totally makes sense! There could be air pockets stuck in there! Probably not a biggie, bit I'll definitely do that next time. Thanks!

COOSA BOARD IS A GREAT PRODUCT BUT SEACAST IS VERY STRONG AND CUTS OUT SOME OF THE STEPS THAT YOU HAD TO DO WITH THIS TRANSOM REBUILD

Did you have to do any prep to the glass you laid in the previous video before adding the coosa? Sand it or wash it with water or anything?
@marcelft
5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I washed the amine blush off and then sanded. In tbe future for all my glasswork that will have any more work done on it I will use peel ply, takes care of both those issues. Thanks for watching and feel free to ask any questions!

@@marcelft awesome thanks. I've tore the transom out of my Kenner 23V and I will be adding Coosa in the next week or 2. Will be closing in my transom also. Your videos have been a lot of help. Do you think laying the glass in the last video then adding the coosa directly afterwards would work (doing both in one step)? Or is that trying to do too much at one time?
@marcelft
5 жыл бұрын
I think that it's doable with being prepared, slow hardner, extra hands. Only thing I'd be worried about the heat generated by that much glass and thickened epoxy? On mine since I was closing transom, in the thought of drilling the holes to clamp the coosa in through wet glass was something I was questioning.
@mdees88

@@marcelft That makes since. I do like the idea of bolting through the transom. I was planning on clamping and bracing off stringers like the shipshapeTV coosa vid but I'm probably going to bolt. Will definitely use peel ply, thanks....
@marcelft

Yeah, if it's your first time, might as well just use peel ply and not stress about trying to get coosa in too. Good things take time.
