That persuasion line, "If you do this you are no better than her" is horrible. They could have written the persuasion to be that enough people had died, that letting the druid live with the knowledge that the tieflings purposefully spared her life would cause her more misery than death; but grieving parents avenging their child are hardly on the same level as a woman who puts a child in a deadly situation and then dismisses her death and the suffering it caused.

While i was relieved to have saved their daughter with persuasion, I do Wish I discovered her collaboration with the shadow druids earlier, for such a potential redemption outcome. Unfortunately, plot advanced to where I couldn't find the key document in the tree cavity at the swamps to facilitate that event. Thus, such a twist remains unresolved, with naught but her typical "enjoy the peace while it lasts" dialogue when prompted. So, I did the next best thing: I had my Oath of the Ancients paladin keep her occupied in an isolated section of the Grove with conversation, then unleashed fury to slay such a cold hearted Viper. Since my paladin did not lay a finger on her in harm, no Oath was broken. Her body is stored in one of Auntie Ethels chests, within my camp supply chest. The intent is to find the most decrepit and profane location, then toss her body into it, that her remains feed the carrion crawlers more decent than her. I can live with such a consolation prize.

I played my character in a consistent matter either supporting the druid or staying neutral, yet here the only options are to support the parents, whom by the way are murdering a druid in my camp in plain sight. I hate to give it to the devs that they made sure one other Tiefling is on it and watching the scene, but feels half-baked that I cannot raise the alarm myself. I saved their hide and are being thanked by them poisoning and killing a guest in my camp. Oh and if you kill them everyone attacks you until you are down and then the game continues almost like nothing had happened. This is what the person you replied to earlier found annoying. If the paladin wanted to follow the oath, the right choice was to convince them not to kill the druidess and then judge them. And I think it's beautiful that these paladins are considered righteous people (see your comment!). But in reality they are extremely corrupt, or rather they have to corrupt themselves one day and become what they swore to destroy in order to continue following that oath. Like The Punisher and not like Judge Dredd!

I find it funny how the animation makes it look like just after she asks "How's the wine?" in a very pointed manner, Kagha takes an immediate quick sip before thinking about how suspicious that question is. Like she got distracted, forgot about the conversation she's having with someone whose daughter she murdered, and really wanted to give a good answer about how the wine was.

Reminds me of this comic I read a long time ago about an ex-WWII SA Captain/Hauptmann and his nephew who go looking for his brother/nephew's father who disappeared years ago. Turns out the brother had gotten caught up in a Nazi plot to smuggle out stolen Polish gold; the brother had nothing to do with the plot. The gold was hidden in a Red Cross ambulance convoy, and the brother, who was a doctor, was simply shanghai'd along with several of his patients to provide a cover for the Nazi's in order for them to cross the border into neutral Switzerland. Once they were in the clear, the Nazi's simply murdered the doctor and his patients. At the end of the story, after the horrific truth comes out, the nephew wants to shoot the Nazi sturmbanfuhrer who was in charge of the operation, but cannot bring himself to do it. The hauptmann quietly says, "You are of the New Germany, boy. It is not in you. However... I come from the Old Germany." And he opens fire.

It's true that vipers do not care for their young. Kagha is either wrong or blatantly lying to justify her actions. After laying eggs, a viper usually abandons them rather than protect them. It's interesting when you consider it, everyone who saw the child as a thief/parasite/poison was some kind of very long lived race like an Elf, while all those trying to defend the child AS A CHILD were the likes of halflings and humans (who may live for at most 150 years assuming they're Monks or Wizards lol). This clearly wasn't a Druid Problem considering how there were Druids on both sides about the matter. It shows how the longer lived races literally just don't see children for what they are. Oh, your child is old enough to speak? Clearly that means it has lived long enough to get a full education and figure out exactly where they stand on morals. In the end, the child stole the statue because she was doing the only thing she could to protect her people from getting shut out... so she _is_ smart enough for a lot more, but not so much smart enough to either A) get away with it or B) assess that there is no way she's getting away with it.

To play Devil's Advocate here the Tieflings really don't do a good job reigning in their children at all, since you know most of them are a pack of thieving little shits, and are so deep in self-pity that they don't care at all about the concerns the Druids have about keeping them there any longer. Plus there's the fact that even with Kagha being taking as hard a stance as she does when you arrive in wanting them all gone she still allows them to stay and drain the Groves nearly depleted resources until the ritual is almost complete instead of just forcibly evicting them all. I will also note that in spite of being told that they have to leave, and soon, the Tieflings make absolutely no effort to prepare to leave until after you've dealt with the goblins. With Halsin having abandoned his responsibilities as First Druid, the Refugees being quite lousy guests and Kagha having Shadow Druids manipulating her (Who are also just a front for the Cult of the Absolute) I would say that Kagha was being lenient with the Tieflings.
