It is so cool how long they can go between breathing! They have a very interesting shaped face as well. I had no idea both parents protect the eggs... thanks for teaching me something new! Hope you guys and Chester are all good 💚

Thanks so much! These are some of my favorite fish just because they're big and goofy looking. The gang is doing all right, hope you all are, as well!

On the bright side, as a registered Tasty Boy they are unlikely to go completely extinct without additional complications

Wow, They're big alright! And not super pretty. But how can you not be fascinated (and a little frightened) by a 10 ft fish that jumps out of the water and breathes air. Thanks for the video!

These are without a doubt some of my favorite fish. I would absolutely swim with them if given the opportunity - even if it would scare me!

Can you please make a video about the Carolina Fish

Hmm did you mean a specific fish species? I'm not sure what a Carolina fish is, actually!

@@AnimalFactFiles OMG I am so stupid IDK how I said Fish instead of Dog, but anyways I kept on searching and I thought it was a wild dog, but later found out it was a breed of domestic dog so the closest thing to a Carolina Dog is a Dingo so sorry for the misunderstanding.

What about the Arapaima being pests?
@AnimalFactFiles

Are they native or introduced? I'm not finding anything about arapaima native to anywhere outside of South America (currently alive, of course). Do you have a species name or some links I could browse through?

@@AnimalFactFiles there is the African Arowana, which is actually related to the Arapaimas.

Oh that's a really good point! I wish we had thought to mention that. Technically we were covering the genus Arapaima, so we didn't even think to discuss the other living members of Arapaimidae! Thanks for mentioning that!

I think we likely won't ever cover humans, even though they are a type of animal. Just a lot to unpack there, and we would rather focus on other animals and potentially prehistoric stuff in the future.
