Here is my thoughts. Before a friend of mine introduced me to Arbonne, I was eating terribly, I was tired all the time and bloated. I did the detox and along the way she helped us navigate to better eating habits. My bloat went away, my skin cleared up, I found energy I wasn't getting from my previous eating habits. Do I believe I could get these same benefits from just eating healthier, I do, but before my Arbonne consultant, no one really offered me the kind of support and help in leading me to make better food choices. And she continues to share clean eating whole food recipes, that include meat, lots of veggie months after my 30 day reset.

Hooray for your video, especially about folks who struggle with eating disorders. I sat through the Arbonne brainwashing session last night. Kind of as a favor and had no idea that it was an MLM. I politely told them my personal journey, guiding my daughter through her struggles with an eating disorder. That lead to me educating the group about how dangerous this program can be in the wrong hands. Several Arbonne disciples hung up. My daughter’s journey continues and fortunately it’s mostly on the positive end of the spectrum! 😌

I loved and enjoyed the video. I have used arbonne for about a year and I did the 30 days to healthy living. I started off with just the shakes to help myself when I didn’t feel like eating. I have lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and ibs with a lot of colon and esophaguses inflammation. Arbonne shakes helped me to gain weight. Now I used them when I didn’t feel like eating or noticed I hadn’t had enough that day. I did the 30 days to help calm my inflammation. Cutting out the sugar was easy with the fizz sticks inside of hot tea. No I didn’t use green tea cause I like my caffeine. I do not like the fizz sticks as a cold drink. I don’t understand why they say no coffee because of the acid in coffee yet the fizz sticks are full of citric acid. Also my rheumatologist says he doesn’t believe in detox anything. He did instruct me on flushing kidneys and such but it was with water and a clear liquid diet for 2 days. On the 30 days your lunch can be a meal just like your dinner time meal. It’s up to you if you want another shake or a meal. After two weeks I had lost a few pounds and decided I needed my potatoes and more meat and carbs and added more to the plan for myself. Another issue is they have videos from high up people talking about sugar. They say it can cause a list of things and in that list is cancer. I spoke up because my dad just passed away from pancreatic cancer and he was already diabetic most of his life. Scaring people about sugar is dangerous because some uneducated people told my dad he shouldn’t eat this or that and it was to the point we couldn’t hardly get him to eat out of fear. We said eat and we will give you insulin. Yes I did argue this point loudly with arbonne. Honestly I love the shakes and the digestion plus because my stomach tolerates them and I had searched for so long for a shake that didn’t hurt my stomach and had good vitamins. Yes I still had soy, some gluten, and lactose free dairy during this. One more thing and I’ll stop lol. They say you can have organic cane sugar and that nectar algave syrup or nectar during this but to my the algave is just high fructose. Thanks again for so much info and the education on my money spending on junk.

It didn’t teach me the importance of exercise and the water weight I lost come right back on. I lost 50lbs and am keeping it off and building muscle by just focusing on movement and portion control. @dietitiankat

I'm glad you have a good experience. As for the question of why review something I've never tried... In a similar way that a pharmacist can look at a prescription and make recommendations and education to people picking up those prescriptions, dietitians can do the same when it comes to nutrition-related topics. We are quite literally trained in being able to base information and client/patient education on evidence-based practices without personally trying something. A pharmacist doesn't need to personally try every single medication they help people use... A dietitian doesn't need to personally try every single diet or supplement they recommend or not.

Thank you for the work you put into this video! Do you have any concerns of the sodium bicarbonate in the Fizz Sticks? I know there are studies on the benefits of baking soda on some autoimmune disease and/or acid reflux but Mayo has recommended taking it no more than 2wks. I used them for 6 years 1-3 sticks/day. I do have celiac. I noticed a sharp pain in my right abdomen for awhile and when I stopped fizz it began to go away and has almost completely gone. This could be anecdotal and don’t want a diagnosis of course but I’m curious your thoughts on baking soda daily. Thanks!
@dietitiankat
4 жыл бұрын
Great question! Hmmm…I do know it has helped with some autoimmune (though it’s hard to get funding for large research for an easily available product), and of course for some acid reflux. High doses can cause gastric and intestinal upset, (which is why people taking it for reflux start with half dose). So that would make sense if you were having it often!! I do know that if someone is taking a medication that requires stomach acidity for activation, taking sodium bicarbonate can reduce the medication absorption (not good). So theoretically, I can see some concerns they are drinking multiple fizz sticks, especially around meds (potentially?) I can definitely see the concern if taking it longer than 2 weeks since there’s many reasons we need a low pH (high acid) stomach, and if someone is having consistent acid reflux, it might be better to figure out the root versus putting a band-aid over it with sodium bicarbonate. Good question!!

It’s not so much a diet. It’s basically training you to feed your body better with healthy nutrients and plant based minerals and vitamins. We don’t promote just having the protein shake on its own. We promote making smoothies with the protein powder as additional nutrition added to your smoothies with fruits and veggies and seeds. The shakes are smooth and delicious. Let’s be honest....we can incorporate these supplements into whatever healthy way of eating we decide to do. We don’t promote starvation. Also we push nutrition because we also have skincare, and a lot of skincare issues are cause by bad gut health. It’s all connected, your gut is basically your second brain.
@dietitiankat
4 жыл бұрын
I can see that! I guess the concern is about what constitutes a diet (which isn’t inherently a bad thing of course) versus a lifestyle when there are rules against having specific foods that aren’t necessary for health. I definitely am glad to see the shakes be mixed with some healthy fats and other ingredients to make them more balanced!

I have done the 30 day and stick to the lifestyle and habits I learned on it a majority of the time. I worked with my doctor and nutritionist when I first started the program and they were big fans. In fact it did heal my gut (my doctor is a DO who did testing with me along the way.) It has changed my health and I found a huge food sensitivity to gluten and dairy bc of this program. You really can't be a reliable source of information and "review" products that you haven't tried. Other You Tube reviews are done by people who have tried the products they are reviewing...I don't know you and it makes you seems less credible because you have no personal experience. I get that there are a lot of hyped up "diet" products out there. That is not what Arbonne 30 Day to Healthy Living is.
@dietitiankat

I’m glad you had a good experience. Thankfully, we don’t need to personally try something to be able to critically think. I don’t have to try it to say “it’s not safe to eat chicken that’s been leftover all night”, or “it’s not safe to look into the sun.” My experience and education provides me skills to look at supplement information and provide professional and reliable recommendations over them, without personally trying them. I don’t expect a doctor to try every single medicine before prescribing it. I don’t expect any nutrition professional to talk about a supplement and to try them personally.

I’m sorry Niki! As a true small business owner, the business side of MLM is very frustrating. It’s kind of hard to separate them when so many of the consultants pretend to be health experts and give harmful information to their clients. I’ve seen many of them give diet advice that goes against nutrition licensing laws, which is scary for both parties because I’m sure many don’t have liability insurance being a contractor. @@dietitiankat she sells Arbonne, that's why she's peeved at your take on the MLM business side of the programs you mentioned. Lol you should google the difference between Network Marketing and Pyramid Schemes. I apologize if you’ve ever been burned by an MLM company. But a lot of people join network marketing because it is easy for someone to do from home if they are physically disabled and can’t work a regular job.
