"so, can you understand, I want a daughter while I'm still young. I want to hold her hand and show her some beauty before the damage is done. And if that's too much to ask, then send me a son". This piece knocks me on my ass evertime I hear it. My wife and I had twin boys 2 years ago but due to complications at birth, they were only with us a few weeks. We held their hands at every opportunity, made a connection and looked forward to our time together, but they fought as hard as they could and sadly they didn't make it. We've been trying for children since but it hasn't happened for us. This song has meant so much more to me since June 2019 and I still well up at that verse. The thoughts of what could have been.

I don't know if talented if the right word. Arcade fire ware one of my favourite bands, but they aren't exactly spectacular technical musicians, they instead have incredible passion/emotion in their performances. If I was to compare them to a band like the strokes- the strokes are clearly more naturally gifted musicians, but arcade fire are a far superior band because they have magic in their music.
