So, a bit of explanation about the RISE video: We are following a guy named Ambition, who is dressed up as Jarvan IV (Prince of Demacia), who is travelling to all sorts of places and climbing up the mountain symbolizing the worlds tournament and him reaching the top is him reaching the finals. At the top we see another player, Faker, that's dressed up as Ryze. Faker is often called the greatest player of all time, because of his achievements (winning 3 worlds tournaments). We see them fighting and Ambition winning: Ambition won the 2017 worlds tournament and Faker was also at that finals, so that fight was like the final boss kind of thing. At the end we see more "challengers" climbing the same mountain, from many different teams, symbolizing that they are coming for Ambition and take the title from him for themselves, like Ambition did from Faker. RISE is my favorite worlds "anthem", and 2018 was the best worlds show for me personally

Ambition and the Samsung Galaxy team played in group stage against Perkz and Uzi, Perkz appears as a G2 player and dressed like Yasuo in the first fight, and at the cave is Uzi dressed like Vayne, Ambition have faced Uzi in group stage too because Uzi was playing for RNG, and at the final as you said was the fight against Faker and the SKT T1

Each of the players represented a different champion denoted by whatever weapon they were using. Ambition (the protag) represented 3 different champions to convey his journey to winning worlds 2017. First Fight: Ambition (KhaZix) vs G2 Perkz (Yasuo) Second Fight: Ambition (Sejuani) vs RNG Uzi (Vayne) Third Fight: Ambition (Jarvan IV) vs SKT1 Faker (Ryze) then in the end scene you see other players with various weapons like Kalista's spear or Jinx's Fishbones!

It wasn't just that there were champs in it, the players were the champions they played in 2018 Worlds. In the Rise video each player is representing a champion. It was the mvp player on the champion they played in the match. And it was representing the final matches played as the winner climbed to the top. The champions represented were Khazix vs yasuo (they can be seen in the background when the lighting strikes), Sejuani vs Vayne (Sejuani's boar can be seen in the fire, and Jarvan vs Ryze. 2020 wasn't terrible. Soyoen is actually amazing. Her level of talent and detail is actually pretty nuts. She does some choreo for her group (G)-idle and she writes and produces a bit of their stuff also. I haven't yet seen someone talk about a couple things so here I am! Firstly, you might recognize the style of the RISE music video, as it was animated by Fortiche Studios, the French animation studio that was responsible for the visuals in Arcane!!! Secondly! The group that did the instrumentation for RISE was The Glitch Mob, one of my all time favorite electronic artists (definitely check them out, they have a very unique sound that utilizes a lot of different electronic samples to achieve a very gritty, head-bobbing type of music while still retaining an incredible melodic overtone). 2018 (the year that they released RISE, and opened Worlds with Mako & The Word Alive) was also the year that they unveiled, and began touring, with what they called "The Blade 2.0", an entirely portable live music stage setup, complete with an electronic drum for each of the members, a 16 pad midi board with 4 channels for modulation, as well as a fully customizable and variable touch screen, on which they could map any sample or sound they wanted to any number of programmable buttons. Each button translates into a sample sound. It's simple but in a way that looks incredible. And the best part is that all of it runs into an extremely powerful portable computer using a program called Ableton Live, containing all of their samples and everything they could possible need to create the sounds for their songs. Everything is produced digitally and is always played 100% live! I had the incredible opportunity to meet and discuss The Blade 2.0 with them the year they unveiled their new stage setup, and they even gave me the opportunity to test out the equipment! It was truly one of the best experiences of my life, and The Glitch Mob is definitely worth checking out, even if you aren't a big fan of electronic music.

The Rise song follows ambition the jungler for Samsung Galaxy. It shows his journey through the championship. The first person he runs into in the weeds is Perks from G2 (Europe) in the first round of play offs. the second is Uzi from RNG (China)in the quarter finals and the last was Faker from SKT (Korea) in the finals. If you watch the players actually use the ability’s of the champions they were playing in those games. In the volcano Ambition turn into sejuani for a second and faker turns into ryze. Also there are dozens of champions in the backgrounds some of the easier to spot ones are Talia and pantheon.

I'd personally say watch the 2020 video on camera! Take Over was personally one of my favorite songs from the worlds series and I don't get where people say the animation was bad. Its not a crazy 3d style like some of the others but it does some really great 2d animation. For the worlds videos, they pros aren't necessarily "dressed" as champions, sometimes they are but they usually all have the signature weapon of the champion that they are most known for playing. A person to look out for was the guy that at the end of Rise. That's T1 Faker, He was considered for the longest time to be the undisputed best pro in league's history. So he's usually in the animatics somewhere being "The guy to beat" or as a mentor figure. He was in fact using the character Ryze's stuff in this cinematic with the spellbook and the scroll on his back.

At the start of the video he picks up 3 different weapons (Kha'zix claws, Sejuani's flail, and Jarvan IV spear) We see Ambition climbing the mountain for success defeating many players considered real gate keepers. At the end we can see many statues simbolysing every previous world champions (with logos and such) And a famous player called Faker which is praised to be one of the greatest midlaner in the world (having won 3 world championships) He is often referred as "The unkillable demon king". Ambition sees at the end his team logo forming onto a statue in front of him, meaning he won. Very end of the video we can see the team players climbing the mountain again, for the next world championship.

For Rise: So this World video is seeped in Esports details but here's the deal: it depicts the journey of one of the world’s most famous players Kang “Ambition” Chan-yong (main character you follow) who won the tournament in 2017 along with his team Samsung Galaxy. During his climb, Kang uses some of the weapons of his most played champions at the tournament and faces off with other famous players from 2017 tournament, first fight is G2 Esports’ Luka “Perkz” Perković as Yasuo and second fight is Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao as Vayne. Once he finally reaches the summit, Kang faces off against the final test, SKT1 Faker playing Ryze, and wins. The environments feature old team banners, champions and, at the end, the circle of statues have logos of all the teams that have won Worlds (which after he beats Faker, Samsung's logo is added to a statue). Then the last shots are showing other players on their own climbs, including Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, and the defeated Uzi.

The 'runes' on the statue are the symbols of all the teams that have won the World Championship. Each character you meet in 'Rise' represents a real player that the main character, Ambition, faced during his run in 2017 to the finals of Worlds. Ambition is a now retired player who was considered one of the best players around until Faker showed up. He switched roles and was defeated by Faker and SKT T1 in the 2016 world finals, which is represented by him waking up among the remains of other defeated teams. Ambition picked up the weapons of his three best champions at 2017 at the beginning, being Kha'zix(the dual scythe blades), Sejuani(The flail in the cave), and Jarvan IV(the big spear). The sword guy is Perkz, then playing for G2 and considered one of the best European players ever. He is represented as Yasuo, since he played Yasuo in 2017 to good success. The crossbow guy is Uzi, then playing for RNG. Uzi is considered the best player to never win Worlds. He is a godlike player so good that year after year, RNG built entire teams around him. He technically didn't lose to Ambition(represented by arrows that hit Ambition are the two losses RNG inflicted on SSG, Ambition's team) but was later knocked out of the tournament. RNG were the favorites to win 2018 Worlds, which is why there is a post-song scene of him waking up in the field wear Ambition woke up. The guy with the book is Faker, the GOAT of League. Faker is one of two players (the other being his longtime teammate, Bengi) to win three world championships. Faker's 2017 team was defeated by SSG and Ambition in finals, where Faker lost his first bracket match in Worlds ever.

There are champions in the Rise video, they're just hard to catch. They're in the backgrounds and shadows and they're represented by the weapons all the players use throughout the video. The first fight is between Ambition using Kha'Zix's claws and Perkz using Yasuo's sword. When Ambition jumps, you can see Kha'Zix and Yasuo's shadows in the background behind the both of them. In the cave, Ambition is fighting Uzi using Sejuani's whip. Uzi is using Vayne's crossbow. When the lava falls, you see Ambition riding Sejuani's boar. The last fight is between Ambition and Faker. Faker is using Ryze's book and Ambition's using Jarvan's spear. You can see Ryze's figure behind Faker when he uses one of Ryze's skills and the same for Jarvan's figure behind Ambition.

To answer your question, yes the person at the top of the mountain is meant to be Ryze. You can actually see the character at 6:54 using an ability that's actually in the game. Also id like to add each fight scene represents another champion the one seen in every scene is meant to be Jarvan the 4th a king of Demacia. The first fight is with Yasuo a samurai who uses the power of the wind. The second with vayne a hunter of evil who uses a crossbow with silver bolts. The third as mentioned earlier is Ryze a rune mage.

Since I have not seen an explanation in the comments yet I want to break down the rise video for you: The main person that we see is Ambition, a player from the worldchampion team of 2017 Samsung Galaxy. We join him on the journey of winning the championship represented by climbing the mountain. We see him fight with the weapons of different champions against other teams. the first enemy is Perkz from the european team G2. Perkz is playing yasuo there and ambition khazix if you want to search for the champions. His second enemy is the legendary chinese player Uzi from Royal Never Give Up. Uzi is playing vayne and ambition sejuani (you can see the siluette with sejuani on the boar in 6:15) . Samsung Galaxy faced G2 and RNG in the groupstage of Worlds 2017. In the final encounter ambition fights as Jarvan the 4th against Faker from SK Telecom T1, who is a legend and from many refered to as the best player in the world. Faker is playing ryze. SKT vs SG was the worlds final match of 2017 and as Ambition wins the duell you can see that the logo of Samsung Galaxy gets incraved into one of the stones right besides all the other logos (what you refered to as runes) of the teams that have won the championship so far. And as the video zooms out we can se the new competetors getting ready for the climb of the mountain - meaning the fight for the worlds titel 2018. I cant make out the first two but in the last shot we see a player with a Flash wolves logo a team from taiwan, a Team Liquid(NA team) Player with jinx's Fishbone on his back (That should be the player Doublelift) and a Fnatic player (Europe). The worlds songs tend to go with the theme of taking the challenge and overcoming the previous kings. And of course they are always generating the hype for the competition to come.

the funny thing about both the first KDA clip and RISE, is that those videos are some of the best animaed videos that Riot released... and were just a little side gig that Fortiche did in 2018 when the script for Arcane went back to the US for re-writing. I mean T H I S is what they call a "side gig"?? also, those are not "runes" but the logos of the teams that won teh LoL Worlds. easy to miss if you don't follow the competitive scene Also, if you guys didn't checked it yet, I recommend you watch "Die For You" the music video Riot pulled out for the first major competition in Valorant. The video is sick and the music is even sicker.

The champions did appear in the Rise video. The pro players were using weapons and abilities from the champions. One of the guys has Yasuo's sword for example and whenever he cuts, the wind cuts some grass way beyond the sword. Faker, the "This guys is hectic" is using Ryze's book.

The guy who was playing Ryze is Faker. He's a pro player from south korea who plays for T1 (formerly SKT T1). He is the single winningest player of all time with 5 worlds championships and 18 other minor titles. This season, T1 went 18-0 which has never been done before! The other people in the video are other pro players on some of their favorite champs. Jarvan IV had the spear, yasuo was at the beginning, vayne (portrayed by Uzi, another korean god), then all the pros at the very end also climbing the mountain!

That was great! 😃👍 I second skipping 2020 and watching it off camera. That really wasn`t Riot at their best. But please don`t skip 2017! ☝️„Legends never die“ is a great song and the MV is cool as well. It deserves being watched! It is a MV with actual champions (almost no pro-gamers) in it and you`ll get to know 2 new champs you will surely like.😉 I would also recommend to watch it BEFORE 2019 and 2021 (These are better for sure but this doesn`t make 2017 bad) to let the exitement RISE! You may get a little anxious about the copyrights in Worlds 2021 once you see it (can´t say more without spoiling), but I think there is no reason for it. I saw plenty reactions to the whole ceremony without pausing, editing or muting. There can`t be copyrights. Maybe someone in here has a more detailed knowledge about it. Greetings to little Vander! 😻

I think for 2020 it was kind of rushed, because no one was sure there would be any live events with the pandemic going. Its sad, but understandable. Riot has given us so much quality, and they still gave us something then too, even if it wasn't the best we've seen from them.

@@stormyspark1 Agreed! The usual high standard made 2020 seem bad, but it really wasn't a desaster and it was for obvious reasons. So no bad feelings for everyone involved. 👍 But if you want to skip a year, it is 2020 for me🤷♂️. Keep in mind they had almost the same struggle in 2021, but what they made of their "plan B" was amazing. 😍

OKAY OAKY for the RISE video. (because I am so excited you guys watched it finally!) As someone said, the pro players were representing characters they main/play with their weapons! (So Faker with Ryze) BUT if you see that the hero (Ambition) grabs some key weapons before he begins his climb. then we get to the wheat field and the guy our Hero has a katana and we can ASSUME its Yasuo (you can see a clear silhouette when we have the slowmo moment with the lightening). And with the lava area we got Sejuani and Vayne (who the other pro player was dressed as our hero was fighting). And I believe all the other champs were kinda in the backgrounds here and there as an homage to them! Okay I am done! :D
