The UNESCO World Heritage area of Aquileia was once among the most important cities of the Roman Empire, an important trading hub between the Italian peninsula, the eastern provinces in Asia Minor, and northwards towards modern-day Germany and central Europe. It's considered to be the largest Roman settlement still mostly un-excavated, which makes it very exciting! Come with me as I explore the ruins of this fascinating spot!
