Hey nice video. FYI normalize doesn't do what you think it does. It just brings everything down or up equally so it would be no different than someone turning down their volume 3db if you hadn't done it and doesn't really help with audio spikes or clipping. What you would want to do to fix it is set a mild limiter at a threshold of the level you want to bring it down to so it softens any spikes above that level without changing any audio below the threshold.

Really??
@ddxfs

Yep. So when you normalize to -3db what it is doing is setting the maximum volume of the track to hit -3db, so if you have a spike that is clipping at 0db then everything will just be lowered 3db evenly (and if nothing was clipping it everything would just be brought up or down evenly so whatever the highest spike in the clip is hits the normalize level you set).

Just a little tip , when you select the white noise in audacity, you might wanna zoom in on it a bit and make sure you're getting absolutely white noise. You don't want to capture little mouse clicks, materials rubbing, anything. Or else it will sound a bit splotchy. X3

If you're recording audio on your phone how do you make the sounds go from ear to ear? Is that something you have to do in audacity to change the left and right shift?
@duffthepsych

I'm not recording audio on my phone. I've had a binaural microphone for a while now.
@madelinelitty

Yeah, I know, but I was just wondering if it was possible to do on a phone. I've done some reading though and it's not possible without having certain microphones and such. What microphone do you use?
@duffthepsych
8 жыл бұрын
Maddietty jm Only certain phones have a stereo mic built in that would make this sort of possible. I use the 3dio freespace pro

I don't have noise removal, I have noise reduction and with sensitivity 0 doesn't remove anything :-( with higher one it ruins my audio. It's driving me crazy, I have a good microphone but I don't know how to use it/edit the sound :-(
